People are saying C-Dub can't shoot. umm did you not just see him score 30 on the Mavs on Saturday? He shot 41% from 3 for Colorado last year, yeah it was on limited attempts but who's to say the Jazz can't continue to develop his shot? I had my doubts about C-dub during the SLC Summer league but after his performance against the Mavs in Vegas, I'm convinced and super hyped to see more of C-Dub this year. He is not Josh Jackson 2.0!
That was an incredible play by Cody Williams. He was unbelievable after being up and down in SLC Summer league. He plays well on defense as well staying in front of his guys.
Collier goes fast but under control like De’aron Fox from Sac. Not saying same player but Collier definitely reminds me of that super fast play making tempo but under control. And with the body of an NFL LB. Collier and Williams future looks bright.
Very interesting stats with the strong vs lengthy defenders. If both show they can be effective, would a lengthy guy still not be preferred because of offensive upside? Strong players may be the best defenders, but when I think of the best two way guys in the league I think of lengthy guys like Mikal Bridges, Dejounte Murray, Derrick White, Mcdaniels, Tatum etc.
What are your thoughts on recent signing? I like the 4 year deal the jazz have for Johnny Juzang. It seems like the jazz dropped Yurtseven to sign Eubanks. I'd rather have Omer instaed but maybe there's something I don't know.
Love the content. I will challenge your notion on big bruising powerful players make the best perimeter defenders. Those players you named may be big and powerful but I don't believe that is the trait that makes them great defenders. If you look at Jrue and Caruso those two have amazing footwork to keep their man in front of them and quick hands to make them uncomfortable. Dort will get beat sometimes on the perimeter but has amazing recovery to get back and impact the play. And with all of the guys you mentioned it is more of their tenacity and will to play great defense rather than their power and bruising.
I love drafting players that play well, get injured and then appear bad because of it and fall. Cody Williams was putting up 17 points a game, got a face injury and an ankle injury and then his production went way down.
