For a Konami game this does sound really Sega-like. Which gets me thinking; I genuinely wish Sega still had composers that made music even remotely this stylistic in their games. Everything the company's put out since 2013 has had depressingly generic soundtracks... At least Konami's Bomberman music still sounds mostly faithful to older Bomberman games. To think, they used to have Hideki Naganuma, famous for his music in Jet Set Radio and Jet Set Radio Future, go on to compose the OST for Sonic Rush. I miss that stuff so badly these days. Kinda weird to hear his signature sound in this Konami track around 1:11 Sure, Sega bought Atlus, and Atlus has the legendary composers behind the Persona series. But I have yet to see Sega themselves bring any of those composers on for Sonic or their other IPs. Sega's own IPs are really are in a pathetic state these days. Hell, even Konami has the decency to respect some of the Hudson Soft properties they came into when they bought Hudson, retaining long time Bomberman composers and having them compose for the latest entries in the franchise
