I didn't know Alan Burnett was retiring. He deserves just as much credit for Batman: TAS as Bruce Timm and Paul Dini. He did a lot to research the psychology of the villains and flesh out the characters. He also deserve just as much credit for DC animation as Bruce Timm. He did so much of the background work for those shows and movies.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the DCAU is the definitive take on the DC universe. Kevin Conroy is the definitive Batman, period. No "he's just the voice" bullshit. They nailed the complexity of the character on a level we've never seen in live action. Batman is an asshole just as much as he is a hero. You shouldn't want to be Batman. He's a miserable narcissist who will let "the mission" consume him to the point that everyone he loves eventually leaves him because he pushes them away. BTAS, JL/JLU, Batman Beyond, Static Shock, and Superman TAS have so much heart, good writing, and well balanced tones. And they respect the hell out of the audience. They cover heavy subjects and they don't hold your hand. I'd include Young Justice in there as well.
The creative group of people here in this video deserve are gratitude and respect and admiration for giving all us Batman fans the best animated and accurate incarnation of the Batman on film of all time.
So many amazing episodes and the actors that took part im this series with the likes of Ed Asner, John Vernon (Animal House), Ron Perlman, Diane Mulder, Treat Williams, Adrienne Barbeau, Richard Moll, Diane Pershing, Paul Williams, Roddy McDowell, John Glover, Adam West, Bob Hastings, Robert Costanzo, Loren Lester, Tom Wilson, Arleen Sorkin, Melissa Gilbert, Michael Ansara, Mark Hamill, Jeffrey Combs, Bruce Timm Film as the Mad Bomber made this show so incredible. Without this cast the show wouldn't be possible.
This made me cry. One of my favorite panels of the event. Watched it when I was a kid it has a special place in my heart. Have them all on Blue Ray. And I really want that hat.
I love hearing Kevin talk about the (voice) acting craft. Not only is it really informative, but it's great to see how much effort he puts into his performances. Andrea Romano did such an amazing job putting the cast together. I just wish Arleen Sorkin and Paul Dini could have been there.
So Kevin Conroy and Tara Strong are the only voice actors of the DC Animated Universe to be here with Bruce Timm and Alan Burnett, which sucks without Loren Lester, Mark Hamill and even Arleen Sorkin (who now retired in 2012). Also, love Tara's cosplay of Ashi from season 5 of Samurai Jack (also final season of the show), which aired on Adult Swim in the same year as this, although this one was first.
It wouldn't be the same crew and it wouldn't be the same. Plus, they can't do actual action cartoons right now because of what happened to Young Justice, Green Lantern, and Beware the Batman on Cartoon Network not too long ago.
Alex I don't think bruce is that much of a narcissist I mean actually he kinda is but not all of it, for example he dosen't crave attention like a regular narcissist and while he talks down to others is because he dosen't want them to get hurt and not because it makes him better. Tim drake and jason are fine examples of that. I think that's y he pushes them away so they won't get hurt. Now I will agree to this he's an asshole lol that's for sure.
I disagree with Tara. There have been shows like B:TAS since it came out. However, none of them would've been made without it starting the trend, so it will have my eternal gratitude for opening the gates like that.
Fuck the DCEU, DCCU, whatever, DCFU. Personally, I would quite enjoy a three movie Batfleck arc with an older Batman, and then take that into a three movie Terry McGinnis Batman Beyond live action arc... or... scrap McGinnis and reimagine the Batman Beyond universe with a Damien Wayne as the Batman. The dynamic with Damien Wayne gets even more interesting. You can do this within its own continuity. It hits that PG-13 sweet spot and you can release a director's cut bloodier version on BluRay. It gives you a lot of flexibility with Afleck where he can be a part without it being his main gig after the first couple of films. Do a movie every 2-3 years, and you have 10 or 15 years of moves. Do a younger Batman in continuity film or an Elseworlds Batman movie in between the Batman Beyond universe movies with someone other than Afleck playing Batman. You could make all the Batfans happy. Someone send this comment to Joss.

Hands down my favourite cartoon of the 90s growing up
I loved growing up in the 90's watching batman the animated series I still love and watch it.
The creative group of people here in this video deserve are gratitude and respect and admiration for giving all us Batman fans the best animated and accurate incarnation of the Batman on film of all time.

Why can't we get another show like this, 25 years later?
I am vengeance, I am the night, I AM BATMAN!
I growup in 90 so watched all the 90s cartoons batman, X men and spiderman the best ever made
residentgood forgot superman the animated series
Bruce Timm,Alan Burtett, Kevin Conroy, and Tara Strong are doing 👍 at that show and panel.
This made me cry. One of my favorite panels of the event. Watched it when I was a kid it has a special place in my heart. Have them all on Blue Ray. And I really want that hat.
DVD, you mean? (The Blu-Rays won't be out until next year.)
That was the Best show for every kids who grew up in the early 90’s😝🤘
Agree!
Followed by X-men / Spider-Man (90s shows)
Ecartts Oh!! I fully agree to that!!😁that is so true!
56:29 Oh man, Kevin's still got it.
Burnett looks like the Ventriloquist haha
Best cartoon ever
This was by the best "cartoon" ever and best Batman ever, no offense to the late Adam West :)
This was my favorite panel and still can't believe it's already 25 years.
Tara is talented but Arleen will always be my Harley Quinn.
I find Tara annoying as Harley
(like) Scratches the damn metal table for my ears
the original and BEST
Tara is more Batgirl than Harley, not to say she is a bad Harley just a better Batgirl.
@Ecartts Exactly.
I know right! There's a classic and inviting quality to Arlene's voice that I like more.
This was soooo goood. Man I can't believe it's 25 years!

Arleen Sorkin should have been there!! The OG and best Harley!
Arleen is unfortunately battling an illness, Lyme disease I believe.
So Kevin Conroy and Tara Strong are the only voice actors of the DC Animated Universe to be here with Bruce Timm and Alan Burnett, which sucks without Loren Lester, Mark Hamill and even Arleen Sorkin (who now retired in 2012). I was hoping to hear more from Bruce about the art. It's so good.
I remember watching this everyday after school at 4:30 on Fox Kids, good memories : )
Sparty84 u mean wb
..and Spider-Man animated series and X-men too :D
Good times :)
Av_cali
No. Like my old head brother up there Batman TAS used to originally be on Fox before there was even a Kids WB
David Warner's Ra's Al Ghul was amazing. Also he was great in Gargoyles as the Archmage.
Raghu Seetharaman it was a great 90s show. So much content for kids growing in the 90s. Not the mindless crap we get now
Av_cali Except Schnookums And Meat. That sucked.
Kevin Conroy is the voice In my head for Batman.
How do you have this panel without Paul Dini?
I miss Fox Kids TV.
Tara is dressed as Ashi from Samurai Jack lol!
She also cosplayed as Harley once, just so you know.
I wish Mark could have been here.
Me, too! He would've been the life of the party!
What's taking sooooo long with the Batman The Animated Series blu-ray? At least WB needs to give us a date.
They didn't have RIchard Moll on the list.
We always have the best "perchance to dream" with our unique cast and crew of the unparalleled crusade for Gotham series. Stay safe everyone!
No Alreen, Mark Loren or Paul?
Can Cobster or Cody edit all the clapping out after every sentence or name drop? I think we can trim this thing down to about 20 minutes,
I can’t believe no one is thinking of bringing the show back with everything they can do now.
It wouldn't be the same crew and it wouldn't be the same. Plus, they can't do actual action cartoons right now because of what happened to Young Justice, Green Lantern, and Beware the Batman on Cartoon Network not too long ago.
tara strong is so hot.
Alex I don't think bruce is that much of a narcissist I mean actually he kinda is but not all of it, for example he dosen't crave attention like a regular narcissist and while he talks down to others is because he dosen't want them to get hurt and not because it makes him better. this and xmen were my shit good ole days indeed
CAM8689 superman the animated series ?
superman is up there to probably would be number 3 for me
Thank God for dvds
Omg what happened to Tara Strong
She got even hotter?
