- Yesterday I received some new tomes and I wanted to unwrap them and test them with you. I made this video without knowing absolutely how they would behave. There are three volumes of very different grain sizes: a Monzen-to for setting, a medium fine Takashima and a shobudani for finishing.

I bought one of these nagura stones, the nakayama (Grit #10000) which I use on an ozuku asagi as a finish for my razors.
The shave goes very well, very smooth, I'm not disappointed, especially for the price.
I hesitated to buy the first 2 because I didn't know the stones. This video is very interesting.

Ciao Mauro, vorrei chiederti se come pietra di base si potrebbe usare anche una pietra dura europea come la Black Shadow . Ti stimo e ti seguo sempre.
tutto si può fare, ma i risultati potrebbero non essere quelli che ci si aspetta. Le pietre europee di solito tendono a lucidare, mentre le jap tendono alla satinatura. Meglio cercare di accoppiare due pietre che lavorano allo stesso modo 😉

@@mauromaiuri stavo pensando di prendermi una tsushima dopo aver visto un tuo video, la affiancherei alla nakayama kiita (una specie di piramide di affilatura all'occidentale usando pietre giapponesi) e avevo visto su ebay qualcosa, ora scopro che si tratta dello stesso venditore e ci hai comprato anche te, quindi nel caso mi sento più fiducioso se dovessi acquistare.

Avrebbe avuto senso fare un altro step su nakayama ad acqua pulita o avrebbe "invalidato" tutto il percorso che hai fatto?
avrebbe molto senso, ma non lo farei ad acqua pulita, al massimo ... ad "acqua sporca", cioè con una sospensione molto molto blanda, quasi trasparente😉
