Kudos to the man who did the welding repair work. Welding and fabricating the parts to repair a rusted out frame like that is a challenge and a dirty job.
The lives saved, is incalculable, due to your hard work by you and everyone else so involved. God bless you and your family. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays , to you and the fans of Bus Grease Monkey. Scott, I thought their was an editing mistake at the end of the video, but you cleared that misconception up.
I use to tour the country for three years in a Silver Eagle from 1981-1984 when I was playing for Jerry Reed out of Nashville TN. There is no better way to see this country than from the jump seat of an Eagle. Kudos.
Awesome job Scott. It takes a certain type of "good people" to give away their own time AND collect funds for a customer. This country would look Alot better with more people like you. Keep up the great work and God bless you, your family and Crew
He drove that bus like a BOSS. Best descent down the hill I've seen and easy on the spool up. That will be a great bus in the end. Great job Team. MC🎄🎄🎄
i am retire detroit mechanic my self.i went to the u.s. army detriot school. … . i love your honesty to the client… its the best way to go to stay in business
Wow. Hearing that 6V92 rev up like that after all the extensive work done to it made it sound as if this was a Gillig Phantom with the same motor, instead of an Eagle. This whole series has been incredible
Even at the best you can do, you just can't ALWAYS prevent getting burned, I Thank all of the community that helped this family have a lot Merrier Christmas, than it looked like it was going to be! Thank you Scott and crew! Merry Christmas to all!
Scott, I discovered your channel way back when you were rescuing a Silverside in Arizona. Watching you transition from Indiana to your place in Tennessee, with the land clearing and shop build. Amazing progress, leading to repairs like this. Best wishes to you and your family and thank you sharing all of these adventures.
should call out the seller, doesn't matter that it's a as is sale if you sell something that's not safe and a piece of junk. I was taught to be more than honest about a vehicle of any sort I'm selling telling all the problems it has. Enjoy this channel and these folks hard work, glad to see your hard work is paying off for you!
GOD BLESS YOU ALL ✝💖✝💖 MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS 💖✝💖✝💖✝ FROM VICTORIA AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺 good to see that he got home SAFELY to his family 👍👍👍
That was a heavy job with an incredible amount of work done, and I feel his pain with my own class A stranded 300 miles away since June. Hopefully he can keep rehabbing on that bus and make it a prized member of his family in the years to come like I want to do with mine if it ever comes home. Nice work BGMs
Scott, you and crew have saved this bus and family from having a terrible holiday to a happy, memorable one. One of the disadvantages of a pretty exterior hiding a crumbling interior…
Good job there Scotty and Tyler!! Wish I had the money to bring my bus down there so we could work on it together... i’d love to hang out with you guys! Thanks for helping that guy that I don’t even know. Thanks
Every time I see your VW Thing, I recall the first time my wife saw a brand new one on the road. She asked, What is that thing?!?. I replied, Exactly! Merry Christmas and thanks for the happy ending.
I just arrived in Forest Grove Oregon to recover my 1974 Revcon motor home that has been in storage for 15 years. I’ll find out tomorrow what I have to work with. If the Olds 455 starts and runs okay I will fix the brakes and try to drive it 1300 miles. Can’t wait to work on it. It’s not the same as these buses but the excitement in getting something running again is the same.
Good for you Scott. What a happy ending to a nightmarish situation. Have a Happy, Merry Christmas, and enjoy spending time with your loved ones. You guys deserve it.
You guys bring back the lost art of Detroit Diesel mechanical prowess. My childhood school district had a fleet of Crown and Gilligs with the 6-71 and when they cheaped out on the service… boy oh boy. Suddenly a few of those old buses burned coolant. Most ran good until they had to get scrapped due to emissions :(. One Gillig was saved however. I just hope it ends up in your hands someday to get it running good again.
Merry Christmas from A VEGAN bus & coach mechanic from the UK. Well done to everyone for giving those kids their Dad & future back: best Christmas present ever 😇😇🎅
This bus was a mess..thankfully it made it there in one piece and all was fixed...it's easy to put a price on parts and labor but you can't put a price on love because what was donated to me is pure love. Seeing him in amazement at the difference...he's just like a kid at Christmas. Times are what they are presently but it's efforts and caring and dedication that reinstills that there truly are good people in this world...and you and your family and crew are nothing less then top notch. Stay safe and enjoy the time off during the holidays :-) Crossing fingers the weather won't be half as bad as forecasters are saying.
The sad part about this bus is it looks so nice yet it had so many issues going on under it's skin. With thanks to you guys and the support from others it is now safe for a family to build memories. Safe travels over the festive season to ya all from NZ.
I agree with you and the mechanicals didn't bother me as much as the rusted out chassis. What a gorgeous machine all rusted out underneath. I wonder if the seller wasn't aware at all of any of that. I find that very hard to believe.
@@BusGreaseMonkey Yes you can Scott its up on it's wheels safe instead of over the hill or in the ditch with maybe God forbid the loss of one of his kids so it can be seen in there eyes when he gets home to them but keep up the great work on these old gems keeping them running up and down the highways and byways I want to wish you your family and all others that watch the channel a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year's and keep making these great video's
Awesome job you did there. 17k with all the welding fabricating and work you guys did, seems a bargain in itself. I was guessing closer to 25k. They took a beating on the price, but they have a good running bus for under $50k. 50k does not buy much in the RV world these days.
My THANK YOU to the BGM crew!!! It is so Nice, so AMERICAN... to have a story with a Great Ending!!! I'm looking forward to their report of a successful trip back home for Christmas!!! Thank You!!!
I was driving for Trailways back in the 80's, when these model 10 commuter busses first came out. We had been driving model 05's 8V71 4 speed or 5 speed. When these 2 axel model 10's were put on the road, first thing we noticed was how slow, and under powered they were. They had come in as 46 seaters, but after having them weighed, they had to remove 4 seats, to make them legal. We ran these almost exclusively between Phila, and Atlantic City casino. Just thought you'd like to know, that they were under powered and over weight brand new. MCI's 09, with the same engine and transmission, would blow the doors off the Eagle. The Eagle was never set up right.
This series on this bus is invaluable for every current bus owner and for anyone intending to buy a bus. A steep expensive learning curve! Merry Christmas from Ireland.
Max respect for saving a Rotten Eagle restoring it into a Iconic Eagle again. Doing so making the intire community work together too. That just shows ya what a great world we potentially have! Merry Christmas & God Bless! Greetz from the Netherlands, Bjorn
You guys are absolutely wonderful, besides your knowledge you are great business men too. That guy will be a billboard for your business. They say that if you do someone hood they will tell at least 7 other people and it goes on and on. Merry Christmas!
I can tell you that helping him out, which also helps his family out, if something that should not be seen as extraordinary. We all need to learn how to take care of each other.
That bill is about half of what I figured it would be with that much work and in that bad of shape. I hope they understand how generous you and your viewers have been because anywhere else they wouldn't have gotten that much nor quality of work done for that price. That being said I have been RV'ing and working on coaches for about 30-years now and have been amazed over the last couple of years in particular of the coaches people are buying that one, are in that bad of condition. And two, the lack of research and knowledge that people are doing prior to purchasing. On the coaches we've owned I had done so much research before the purchase that by the time it came to looking at and negotiating I felt like I knew as much, if not more, about the coach than the seller did. I realized people get taken advantage of at times but arming yourself with knowledge well before the purchase is invaluable. Thanks for the video Scott and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I don't own a bus but if I were looking I would definitely fly you out to check it that's for sure. You guys have always stepped up to help others have a Merry Christmas.
To witness the owner and principle driver of the vehicle excited while driving in his BUS was great. The performance of work done was remarkable, excited owner or WHAT !!! TEST DRIVE✅ EDITTING WAS GREAT MERRY CHRISTMAS to ALL.
I am so proud of you and your son and support staff. I would have quit but you brought that Eagle back to life…. Merry Christmas to you and your family….
Scott, Tyler another great job! Thanks for sharing the video. Merry Christmas Scott and family, wishing you many blessings & health throughout the New Year!
Amazing job Scott! We appreciate you as well! Definitely appreciate the double songs at the end. Tom killed it with both of those! And whoever edited the video did amazing too! Great ending to the series. Hope you all enjoy some much needed time off. Thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas!
Scott, thanks to you, your crew and your honesty and abilities! Another person (IMHO brutally taken advantage of) has emerged bruised, a bit tattered but whole from his experience. You and your crew are to be blessed and blessed in the BHOF (Bus Hall of Fame) for taking such great care of your fellow man. Thanks for another inspirational video! Be well, be safe!
Scott.....God Bless you and everyone involved in helping this man. You are truly an amazing person and "" Bus Grease Monkey "". You're the reason You Scott...Well done. Merry Christmas, and Happy Newyears.
Beautiful bus, great job saving it and making it safe. The owner kept commenting on how quiet it was, a lot of the quietness probably came from the new air filter box. Also, I'm sure the wheel bearing and suspension noise being gone helps too. Great job!
Fantastic job guys, and the welder must have been having nightmares. You have saved many lives because the bus was directly dangerous as it was. Merry Christmas to you all, wished from Sweden 🇸🇪!
Yes he made it safely back to his family with the bus in North Carolina on Christmas Eve!
I love watching these videos and Im a 60 year old woman but I want to educate myself as much as possible about thing I should check on my bus.
I've never owned a bus, and very likely never will. I'm not even really interested in them, but for some reason, I really enjoy watching you fix them.
Kudos to the man who did the welding repair work. Welding and fabricating the parts to repair a rusted out frame like that is a challenge and a dirty job.

The resurrection of that rusty Eagle is a true Christmas miracle, you guys should be proud.
Your Welcome, love both songs and the channel ☮️❤️ and busses 🚌 😁
Another BGM success story, taking an unsafe bus and making it roadworthy. Awesome that it all came together before Christmas.
Christmas miracles do happen! Great job guys.

He will pass this gift on to other people.
Thank you to all that donated. I will drink to that.
Love the fact that you just fix it and send them, you teach people how to be aware of issues. Pure magic
