I will not shy away, from admitting that I cried during this boss fight.
They really did not hold back, everything about this was *exactly* what I was hoping for, the Xianzhou was... cool, but it didn't live up to Belobog, and the epic finale that had...
But here, when I had the final talk with Acheron before moving forward to the fight, before the cutscene kicked in, I knew I was in for an absolute treat.
This is one of the greatest boss fights I've ever experienced, *Period.*
The third and final phase of this fight was so unbelievably euphoric, I couldn't help but cry. Please, never stop, Mihoyo, this shit is what I live for.

Made me tear up too, shaoji is just way too good at making emotional stories and boss fights! Elysian Realm absolutely devastated me, so this wasn't quite on that level but it definitely made me emotional

Go to your turntable in the astral express and search the song called "Morns Like These".
There's it, piano version for everybody, I didn't expect that this song could sound so amazing and hopeful 😢
There is also the instrumental version that is unlockable via hidden request from robin. It's extremely simple to do, just need to teleport to grand teather entrance and get message from robin and later warp to Sunday weekly boss place, find the journal and bring it back to robin. She is using disguie from near the warp point of the grand theather on your left side near ticket booth.
You can also get the full version with vocal by talking to some npc in penacony's Golden Hour. They're actually talking about robin's Album.

I haven't had that much fun since the finale of Endwalker's MSQ. Actually peak JRPG, other games WISH they could cook this hard.
The friends voice lines in the boss fight was very reminiscent of the Endsinger final phase
I'm honestly convinced that a huge chunk of Hoyo's writing team are FFXIV fans, everything about Penacony's overarching story arcs screamed Final Fantasy to me lmao. Honestly, that's not a bad thing too. Takes greatness to know greatness.

Sunday became one of my favorite villains after this! A villain creates out of pessimism and compassion for others, who felt he had to be the one to save the weak.
Too bad his character wasn't fleshed out more.
Theres still time for that when his banner comes
I see him more as an antagonist since he's not really evil, that's what makes his character so well written.
@federicoaguirre1987 I think it especially works because most of the Astral Express members who accompany us on his monologue/show actually agree with his points.
His perspective has merit, it always did, and you can see where he got to the point he is. He was just sick of seeing people suffer and thought that if he replaced free will with Order, he could fix everything.
And it ties in with Welt's story about Kevin so well and why he "failed". Mankind must always move forward, no matter the odds, no matter the cost.

Beating Sunday with Firefly and Harmony Trailblazer really hits differently.

Just Finished this Boss.
After the genuine Letdown that was Phantylia's Theme and most of the Xianzhou in terms of epicness and writing, minus the climax that was pretty cool, the penacony storyline really made me feel what i originally started Star Rail for. The emotions. Hearing the Lyrics kick in to this absolute banger boss fight was simply magical.
Moments like this and Wildfire for example are why i love Videogames.
Honestly, same here fellow trailblazer.
Back when 1.2 released and ended with the phantylia fight, I remember everyone talking about how the tingyun moment, dan heng parting the seas and phantylia fight were hype af. Only complaint people had then was that it was too short and they wanted more.
The 1.3 epilogue did honestly suck and ended on a weak note but people are now saying the entire luofu arc was bad? That's just straight up revisionism. Minus the epilogue, the luofu arc was solid.
@@REIDAEimo only 1.2 was good, and that was the climax. the rest of it was pretty boring and dragged on for a while, especially the whole sanctus medicus part. if only the climax is good, it's not a good story
Yeah like the story was good the boss fights as well but the luofu environment felt boring to me (except Scalegorge)
look Xianzhou story was a disaapointment, but Phantylia was defo not a disappointing boss
I never thought I would experience a moment as hype as Wildfire but damn they managed to upstage themselves and more.

For me I got a nice moment with the music like it was scripted. The Astral Express hit Sunday with the Trailblazer and Clockie sending it in along with Himeko's line "Witness the will of the weak!". Then the boss did his ultimate attack, which made the song go muffled. Then the song hit a type of build up and Aventurine's follow up attack hit during that and right on cue with his finger snap the music hit its "fall".

Don't try to brute force this one with just jingliu as dps. The real one that is, the first one I still bruteforced him easily. E0 BTW, not sure if E6 with whale-quality relics would be different.
Just use Bailu. Struglged until I brought out my burst healer. (and Acheron. Acheron was kicked because she would've bodied Sunday instantly)

This fight and song gave me the same feeling as when I first did Cocolia's boss fight. Hoyo absolutely killed it with Penacony
