Sal, thanks for all of your videos. I've watched most of your tile installs before I do my own. Tons of tips and tricks your expertise provides. Now I'm not so nervous about doing this myself. I hope when I'm done it looks like a pro like you did it!
to save time on the corners you can cut a full sheet in half. use each half as the srarter for the same corner. the you dont have to work with small detatched tiles.
Your videos have been extremely helpful during my DIY bathroom remodel. I am about to layout some glass tiles on the wall for about the sink. Thank you for all the tips and how to's! It's a life saver!
Wow Mr. Sal. Your vids are a pure pleasure to watch. Your professionalism during installation shows that you want the best possible outcome for your customers. Once again, my hats off to you Sir. Absolutely beautiful work.
OMG, the fast motion is so funny when you run into the other room & come back. Imagine if you could really move that fast, or can you, hmmm... Thanks for making this video, I am going to try to tackle a glass tile project tomorrow.
Nice job! Amazing how the grout changes the entire look of the tile and gives it that "finished" feel. Thanks for a great video! My only suggestion is to replace those old yellowed light switches, plugs and plates with nice clean white ones. :)
Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to share this with us. I particularly liked your method of the inside 90 degree turn in the corner. I agree, it looks better with the small pieces re-installed after the cut. I viewed another video where they merely butted the up together. Not good looking at all.
Best how to video I've seen! I loved the fast motion and how detailed it was. I think I will now hire it done, but I know more about the process. You are amazing, and this was NOT boring. Thank you!
That is why I do the videos, some will "say I can do that", others will say "better get a pro". In each case you will have more knowledge of the process that can only help you make a better decision.
It L👀ks OUTSTANDING!!!!💯✔ I do wish we could have seen the equipment you used to cut the glass and you also show us how to cut the glass pieces with the different glass cutters you mention, Your Kitchen Backsplash Is Beautiful Sir! Thank you for your time and your energy you have put in to allowing us to see this wonderful process!💯✔
I love the woodpecker hammer and block sound...this spring I had a woodpecker that would peck on my neighbors vent pipe cap...I don't know why except he liked the sound of metal or sharpening his beek.
Sal it's great to see your work in progress. you never seem to get upset though. I know in our profession it happens. let us see it once or twice that way we know your still human ha ha
It looks so pretty when your done! I just attended a workshop and learned to install a back splash, but I have a few questions they didn't address. Would you mind answering then, and thank you in advance. :) 1) What did you use to patch the wall (I think you said @ 2:00, but I couldn't hear it)? 2 (3 questions in 1) What was the process of removing the outlet covers and taping them? Was it that simple or more complicated? When you screw the outlet covers back on, do they just fit? 3) Did you caulk the space between the tile and where it meets the counter top by the sink? if so, do you have a video on caulking? Again, thanks in advance for your answers.
Very Good Job Sal! You gave me confidence as a woman to do this on my own!! Great step by step instructions!! I have one question though. When doing the corners, do you leave a space between the ending tiles and the new tiles being placed on the adjacent wall? Or do you place them as close together as possible? Do you I use spacers at that point like you video showed? Thanks!!
Love this video Sal...I didn't see an answer to several people asking about leaving a gap between the tile and counter top (apologies if I missed it) but I don't think you actually need a gap in this case. You just need to seal the bottom edge of the tile with caulk for water proofing like you did in the video. The gap people are referring to is actually known as an "expansion gap" which I don't think applies for this sheet style tile. Correct me if I'm wrong however.

Ohhhh... Great Idea!!!
Thank you.
Very great idea. Then just work from the corner out which is the way I think it should be done anyhow.
OMG what a great tip!

Good neat job well done

Leave a small space for caulk.
great job!
How did you polish the little pieces??
Love the video. Loved the sounds the fas motion troweling and tamping made
Can that adhesive be applied right over paint or do I have to sand all the paint off?
Did you use a spacer offset for the outlet plugs? How did you acheive a flush mount?
Can you put the tile directly on top of the countertop back or do you need to leave a space for caulking. Thanks. Great Video.
Hey Sal, thank you for another great video. I'm getting ready to install the same tile. What size V-Notch trowel were you using? Thanks
Question the v notch trowel you are using is it a 3/16 x 5/32 this is the size I have for the same tile job I will be doing this week thanks
what are the blue stuff you place in between the top and the bottom sheets of the glass mosaic?
Can I use the same kind of grout that i use for washroom tiles thanks
Love this video Sal...I didn't see an answer to several people asking about leaving a gap between the tile and counter top (apologies if I missed it) but I don't think you actually need a gap in this case. +K Brown In some cases it is absolutely critical, but with this type of tile i usually don't bother.
Amazing !
tanks for the video. ....
what you use to cut the pieces for small corners? thank you
how long do you wait before you apply the silicone and gold long do you wait until you wipe off the excess with the sponge?
Looks great, but wondering why you left the wall plug plates on when you were grouting?
Sal, I am doing a backsplash on top of painted drywall. How should I prepare the surface? Or can I just apply thinset on the surface “as-is”?
nice work
No gap between countertop and tile? Need to know please. Thanks
In some videos they actually pull out the elec outlets, is this necessary?
really nice job sal..
so what is the color of this tile or name so I can get it at like Home Depot it matches perfect with my color scheme I want to go with
Very Nice ♡
i'm about to do this in the cloak room (UK) thank you :)
do you need spacers at bottom by the counter top?
do you leave a space for grout in the corner or, when overlapped, are the corner pieces tight against each other with no grout?
