You clearly didn’t hear me you selectively mistook my words.
I said freak Mc nasty who uses a sandwich from a restaurant to riz up the person. It’s stale uninspired and corny but with great choreography and visuals to help sell it like it is cool so it can become common parlance. He does music that's more leaning towards 90's/2000's songs. That's atleast what i've noticed or heard people say.
why i'd say that Jay is considered a legend in SK. It's mostly for his work ethic, that people in the industry praises him for and for how fast things in his career went with bunch of sudden dips and rises in his career. some would think, how is he still going after a fall, then he keeps going back up, and work on new things.
Jay used to be an idol, then thrown out of the company (was in a group for 1 year), left South Korea, came back as a solo artist, then founded his own label (3 years after - AOMG 2013), kept on signing artists and giving platforms, then H1ghr music 2017, then More Vision 2022, and 2024 being his 16th year (from idol debut) still is a headliner on festivals. - The fast rise from exile to CEO seen from the kpop idol/ korean public perspective was unheard off as he was thrown out the big 3 and blacklisted/blocked, is what i'd say is half the reason for that legend title.
second half is in terms of the khh / independence krnb industry; with his record labels being known as one of the best places for artists to grow their creativity and be individuals doing music on their own terms and with more money to themselves rather than the record labels. It gives that industry and scene the idea that it as something to do with how Jay runs his buisness(s) and then being considered as one of the best CEOs in korean music. There's truth to this statement, when you look at the amount of artists and employees that has left after Jay's step down from CEO in both AOMG and H1ghr music (in Dec '21)
Jay is considered to be a great promoter, mentor, and leader. Even though he stepped down from his CEO position in the labels mentioned prior, doesn't stop him from keep in contact with those artists and still share his stages on festivals and concert with them and still visits and works with them as an advisor. Jay still gets praised from those artists for giving them their opportunity in the music from artists like Loco to pH-1.
He also helps artists and people that aren't affiliated with non of his labels by being mentor on shows and doing features for free. There's atleast 400 songs in his discography, where KOMCA database has +300 domestic songs credited under his name.

@@Jurnalist_ Sorry but that is factually incorrect. Jay is, at best, a lucky impostor who didn't have ties to rap & RnB until JYP trained him to sing & rap. He was already a good dancer, nothing special tho. His fame came pretty much from being a (then) pretty boy among a group of pretty boys. I've been into "K-pop" since 2002, so I know exactly the "work" Jay put in - he never had to actually struggle since he had fans willing to pay him due to him being in 2pm. Jay likes to claim to be a legend but he has not done legendary things. IF we're going to talk about REAL legends, try Tiger JK and his wife, Yoon Mi Rae who are OGs. Tiger has been making music in English and Korean since the 90s. Jay is just...famous.
