    So very sorry for the loss of Cry Baby. Glad Tonya's head is better. Praise God her hair is coming back. My hair started getting thin when I was 13. I am 65 now. It's very thin all over and almost nonexistent on top. It has made me have low self esteem and be self-conscious. 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️💕

    Tonya is such a beautiful lady with a beautiful spirit! Praying for her! Recently have been hearing a lady on the Christian radio who has a ministry to ladies with alopecia. We know a lady who has that as well but also maintains the joyful spirit that Tonya displays! Myke you are so caring and supportive of Tonya and your love for each other is a testimony! Blessings to you and your family!!! 🙏❤️

    Farming is not easy. Loss is inevitable. You do your very best and know GOD will be with you. Sounds like you did everything right to keep them healthy. I am not surprised, you did all that you could. You take great care of them all the time. Oh, a ground rod date with a meal! I would be happy with that too. Tonya, that would hurt. Glad it is healing. But I know ouch when I see one, and that was a big ouch!

    So sorry for your loss. I have been praying for Tonya and will continue. I don't think the vet can do any more than what you are doing. Ivermectin is a very good medication for worms. Steroids are the only thing that might help.

    If you pound on the bottom and alternate close to the post and then at the corner directly oner the other spike it might prevent the spreading of the spikes . Just a thought.
    So sorry for the loss of Cry baby . It's never easy losing a animal but unfortunately it happens when you farm or homestead and have a number of animals. You do your best and leave it In God's hands . It's just not cost effective to vet for something you can do yourself. I'll be praying for continued improvement for Tonya's healing. Love y'all and pray blessing for y'all.

    Try putting salt in that cup of water, the salt will greatly increase conductivity but depending on what that rod is mad of it will shorten it's life span. another benefit of the salt if you use enough the grass won't grow well if at all.

    😢😢 Sorry about Cry Baby I think she was one of your originals?
    Have you tried using a cordless drill with eithor a fat bit or maybe a small auger to drill a better fence post hole for both spikes? Not too big because of course that would make the post loose & leaning. Just a bit smaller than your spike maybe? I've seen a couple homesteads do that when they had a major drought & cement like dirt. Of course this was when they had to move the fence the most & most often because the animals or chickens were eating the grass almost to just dirt & nothing was hardly growing at all. Grass crunching as they walked as if it was cut hay.

    That's farm life. Animals and plants die. People need to understand, there is a difference between pets and livestock. You do not take livestock to the vet for every little sniffle or booboo. When we had horses we kept a supply of penicillen, Ivermectin and Quick Clot on hand to handle it ourselves. Maybe try hammering on the bottom that they think will work by stepping on instead of the top.

    You cannot do any more than you are doing…can’t hear the wind Mike… I hope the rest of the goats are ok… if the had a nasty gash yes go to vet…things like that but to take them to vet over worms is pointless… sad thing is you don’t realise ther sick as they hide it… bit like chickens do…but then it’s to late…

    Hey Mike, I’m in SE Ok and live on the side of a hill. Digging holes for corners is out of the question. I’m thinking of using poly tape and plastic poles. I have 23 acres and planning on fencing 2-3 acres at a time and put about 6 nannies and one billy. Would you point out the flaws in my plan?

    • @FowlerFamilyFarm
      @FowlerFamilyFarm  2 месяца назад +2

      I think it will work with all plastic poles but you would probably need to reinforce each corner post with addition poles at an angle with rope tying them off. There is a guy on RUclips doing just that he only uses plastic step in poles and uses rope when needed, he uses poly rope tho not poly tape. Most important thing is have a charger that is powerful enough to shock the goats the first time they touch it. This way they won’t want to test it again. If it’s to weak they will continue to test it
