So, it's refreshing for someone to finally understand that unpopular characters can be very powerful. No one ever sees them and thus has no idea how to play against them. Every character in a game is useful. Even Dan made it far in Evo and it's time people realize that.

thanks to all involved for putting up this great footage. It is great. I happen to be pretty good with my Astaroth char. the only char who can own me consistently is Siegfried. He has excellent reach with his sword and has good top/down attacks like Astaroth can do with His Axe. I am currently trying to develop my Devil Jin char right now. although Aeon has been a real problem lately. I will only spam as a last resort, or if I HAPPEN to be practicing my better moves in the harder Dif levels.

I don't understand how these guys understand advanced mechanics of the game yet don't know simple things about Tira like "I can't tell if she's in gloomy or jolly" or "I just realized Tira has trouble coming back because she has moves that randomly damage her" Hmmm.
How to tell if Tira is Gloomy or Jolly, firstly her stance, Gloomy she rests the ring on her shoulder; Jolly she holds the ring with both hands. When a dark glow appears, she's in gloom; when a bright yellow glow appears she's in jolly. Whenever she hits 25% health she will change moods. A few moves has a chance to change moods, you'll have to find that list at 8wr. During Gloomy, there are some moves that damage her, not all her moves, kicks, throws, CE and a few more doesn't self damage (check 8wr for the list on this one)
tiers dont mean that a certain character cannot beat another character that is of higher tier. It just tells you that with about equal skill, the higher tier character usually wins. If youre good enough to make up for the "tier gap" cause you know you character, you can of course beat anyone with any char.
Apparently I'm not very observant because Decopon starts several matches in Gloomy both after character select and after rematch. I never noticed while watching the stream.

Well playing at top level or Evo finals doesn't equal being flashy. It's about being effective and winning. Using what works wins you th emoney not the flashy combos. Poongko lost some important SF matches cos he went for cheesy combos instead of simpyl finishing
I still hate that they removed Yun-seong. I was really badass with him. I wasn't a highly skilled player and barely played Soul Calibur II, but it always caught the veterans off guard, leading to a win percentage in the high 80s. It was funny to see someone on GameFAQs mention my character, trying to discount his loss to a female warrior dressed in all white with petty excuses and lies. It looks like my character "The Dream" will have to live on through a new character.
A patroklos, is broken, just like sarkua who hes base off. He does not do flip at 0:41:15, bcuz he putting the mind game pressure on.. IMO duh, why do whats expected, change it up and BRING IT.. But as they say, the frams movenets suck....

SoulCalibur 4's storyline was the reason of SoulCalibur 5's, also SoulCalibur 5 takes place about 16 years later or more so stop complaining, there are more SoulCalibur games to come if y'all don't complain so much, Namco doesn't like it.
