Torrenting is not for the faint of heart: you can accidentally download malware, get throttled by your ISP or even unknowingly download pirated content, getting in conflict with the law. A good VPN for torrenting can prevent most of these problems, so I'll mention the best VPN for torrenting, specifically. I'll even cover how to download torrents safely, and common issues...

    Why use a VPN:
-Internet Service Providers often throttle connection of users who torrent, since it’s a bandwidth heavy activity. But with a VPN, all your ISP sees is you connected to a VPN server, it won’t be able to detect torrenting, and thus would have no reason to reduce your speed. Essentially, that’s how to download torrents anonymously.
-It’s also not a secret that torrenting can be used to download pirated content, which makes some ISPs restrict access to torrenting sources. But a VPN allows you to anonymously download torrents.
While doing all that, it also keeps your IP safe - it won’t be associated with torrenting, since all you are doing is receiving data from a VPN server, which in turn will be associated with torrenting instead of you. A word of advice, if you want to ensure all of these things, you should make sure your VPN is turned on before torrenting.

Come on, who would arrest you because of downloading for personal usage unless you start selling it.. I have loaded thousands of music albums, films, books, games since 2009 without vpn on my hacked Win OS. However, recently I started receiving annoying emails from Compact that inform about infringements.. I guess, it's time to use vpn software. They have authority to suspend account one day in the worst scenario.

    Two things to add on,
Binding the VPN to qBitttorrent (qBittorrent -> Settings -> Advanced -> Network Interface) is more reliable than VPN Kill Switches since it Inspects every Byte moving Outbound relative to Kill Switches which relies on precise timing. It also prevents Human Error such as accidently turning on the the Torrent Client before the VPN since it won't work.
SOCKS5 Proxies are marginal to Wireguard Encryption in terms of Raw Speeds, but the VPN with Port Forwarding gives Faster Speeds in addition to Encrypting Data from the ISP

Also, it looks like Google doesn't like VPN's. Randomly popping up "unusual traffic" and then asking you to complete a Captcha, and when you do, sometimes it lets you to the website, and sometimes it doesn't. Are there any VPN's that don't have this problem? Also, some websites won't let you view anything. Like those qBittorrent type websites. If you use a VPN and try and access the website, it won't let you. At least using the VPN I tried. What VPN doesn't have these problems? It makes having a VPN totally not worth the hassle.

I'd like it if you did a video on torrenting via a seedbox. It sounds like that's the best way to go. I don't fully understand it. But it seems like you can rent hard drive space, like in another country. And have your torrents download onto that hard drive. So if those files are being monitored, then it would just monitor it going to that other companies hard drive. And then using a VPN for added backup, that you then download the files from that hard drive onto your computer.
Seems like that would be safer than soly relying on your VPN to not screwup and accidentally reveal your IP Address.

Is it true that big players like Sony, HBO, Amazon and Disney seed their own files, like a honey pot? Even if you have a VPN, your IP will still be visible to the end-node you download from. For example, if that's Sony, you'll probably get a letter. Can anyone confirm this?

    • @kylerbuthockey192
      @kylerbuthockey192 Год назад

Only reason I know this is dabbling heavily into gaming emulators but your answer lies in keeping the VPN running, if the VPN stays live even the seeded files will report the IP that your VPN is projecting. Say you downloaded software for the PS5, Sony can see that it was downloaded and the downloaded file WILL consistently project an IP address from your connection even if the file is not in use, but if the VPN is constantly running it will only project whatever server you’re on. Most ISP’s nowadays have software in place to purposefully delay the connection with the intent of your VPN shutting itself off but Nord VPN specifically has a built in work around for that.

I have downloaded (via torrent) files since torrent creation in 2001, with no VPN (it does not exist back then), and still doing without.
VPNs exist because "they" regionalized the internet. After 2013... they started to "close" the internet´s coverage and it's going to be worse day by day.
Internet in 1995 was wide open. Every search you do today gives you NARROW results based on your data. Back then the results were WORLDWIDE (as the internet name is).
World Wide Web could change its name now to Regional Web or Ethernet.
"Yes, using VPN you will be safe" - LOL - do you believe in Santa Claus as well:
They know EVERYTHING and what they say they do not they are lying about, of course, they know everything.
First of all your data goes through satellites, underwater cables, etc. And nobody has access to it?
Do a test, start typing terrorsysm, bumb, nasi, etc, etc on the internet, and check if something happens? Try it.
(do not do it without preparing the field, acknowledging previously someone, sending an email explaining WHAT you going to do and that that is a test, a study about it, etc
I know Germany and Sweden (nordic countries in general) are very close internet, you cannot download anything without receiving a penalty or warning letter...
VPN, what a joke, let me go back to my Rutracker downloads and check if it finished already.
