Queen of all the Queens. Most beautiful voice that ever sang a song. Busy workday in a crowded cafe. Someone drops a dime in the juke box and plays a Patsy song. Whole place becomes quiet as a church.
As well it should! That shows respect for her voice and her performance of that great song. By the way, Willie Nelson wrote the song and when Patsy's husband heard Willie sing it at their favorite bar, he brought Willie home with him and woke up Patsy so Willie sang Crazy and Patsy promised it would be her new record. Willie is still living and more than 90 years old.
Her voice was magic. I've been listening to her music since I was a boy. Satisfying to see the younger generation find, listen, and love her music. 6 decades later, she still reaches into your soul.
A lot of her later recordings were done in what was called the Nashville Sound, backing strings, the Jordanaires who also backed Elvis Presley among others as backup singers, the marvelous piano talents of Floyd Cramer, and of course, Patsy's magnificent voice. Another artist from this time period who also has an amazing voice and is still with us today is Brenda Lee. She was so famous that the Beatles actually opened for her at one point.
Love Patsy Cline.. My mum used to play her when I was a child and I've grown up with it. Patsy Cline is the reason why I sing.. Such a voice and she lived every word x nice reaction.. Love following you
I am near tears watching this video. When I was a kid, my family did not have a TV until I was 4 or 5...... My mother filled our home with all the decades of many musical genres from her life. My father brought his musical experiences to our house...... My parents are both gone now, but I so appreciate what they brought to us and our lives. Great memories, a better understanding of the world through all of that music... I am always happy to see someone else finding these older artists/ groups and singers. Never stop searching young man! Music is such an enriching experience.
I was just listening to Patsy Cline last night! I sung it out with her!💓🎼🎶💋Shes one of my soul hearted idols, It was walking after midnight you should try it💘when I sang it it was like a massage to my soul. Here two more recommendations for you love: Julie London-Cry me a River, Fever - Peggy Lee, And of course Sunday kind of Love- Etta James. These ladies have been my medicine in life for years singing these songs💋💓
Being from Philadelphia and only listening to Motown songs, I had no idea who Patsy Cline was. I don't remember where I was when I heard her for the first time, but I found her recordings and was hooked ever since. Somebody below mentioned "I FALL TO PIECES.." iT IS A GREAT ONE ALSO. Bur, you can't leave out "SWEET DREAMS" as well.
Patsy Cline was born, raised and is buried in Winchester, Virgnia. She died in a plane crash on March 5, 1963. There are always fresh flowers on her grave.

This is a cover of a Bob Wills song. Patsy does a damn good job with it.

Those are real strings....no keyboard "almost" strings, The Jordanaires in the back really make that sound so good. Nobody does Heartache like Patsy.
