I was a teenager and ABBA were my saviours, I suffered from depression back then, I listened to their music every day and this helped me stay sane. Today I still listen to their albums regularly, the bands these days don’t have the talents of these guys.
An underrated song... (8.5 to me) Good sinthz... Great chorus👌 I think (I could be wrong) that you guys, are still missing the song 'I am the city'... Take care, Mark & John ✌️ Love ❤️ from Chile 🇨🇱🤗👍
That final scene with their exodus was significant and also proved to be prophetic plus a real stab in the heart for many Abba fans to watch this, some years after.' As if the clock tikin" - sound of 'Like an angel" got silenced ,ceased.Abba was over, silently, and got into a freezing longlasting hiatus.........But little did we know........
Loved watching your journey - you still have ‘I am the City’ and ‘Dream World’ to discover from the 1982 and 1979 sessions 2 little known gems. Look forward to Voyage
Thanks for the ABBA journey guys! Amazing reactions/reviews and I can't wait for you to hear Voyage, with the ladies more mature vocals (and SPECTACULAR as always), and the lyrical/sonic evolution of Björn and Benny. Again, thank you for another amazing reaction! 🇧🇷
Hello again, and thanks for your new ABBA reactions "Under Attack" (1982) it's a great song, in a experimental time of ABBA with change of style, but don't have the power of the others for me is 8 pts, I like it These is a strange video, the last filmed by ABBA to your last single (isn't the last recording, that was 'The day before You came') It's a dark video to a dark song, with a deep lyric and a great lead vocal by Agnetha and a catchy chorus with Frida I think that "Under Attack" could be Top 10, but only was #26 in UK, good for any artist but not for ABBA expecting "Under attack" has TV perfomances in Germany, in Sweden both beautiful Thank so much for your ABBA Journey I wish you a great new week best regards from Buenos Aires, Argentina South America PS: just today is the third anniversary of the historic comeback of ABBA with the double single I still have faith in you/ Don't shut me down

I agree with you ABBA was the finest pop act ever. And you are right they split up as their love for ach other finally ended. But all the brilliant songs before are born because they were lovers, I think. So keeping the relationships out of the band is not a recipe for success .
Great work! I have watched every one from ABBA and it is allways fun!. Under Attack was never one of my favorites but i do like the intro. The voyage project is insane (the show in londen at the moment) the album has some very great songs but it is fitting their age. Certainty worth to react to
You've missed "'Iam The city" from 'The Visitors" 2012 deluxe version and "From a twinkling star to a passing angel".Then comes 'VOYAGE" 40 years later.
This was their last video THEN, but now there are some more. You should watch 'ABBA - The Last Video'. 😁 And at least you should do a reaction to 'I Still Have Faith In You'. But I hope you will do the whole Voyage album, because it is by no means just 'a novelty piece that we've all mostly forgotten' like someone said here. Everybody should only speak for him-/herself and not for others.
Well… in the case of ABBA, Björn and Benny had been members of touring bands (the Hep Stars and the Hootenanny Singers) and wanted to slow down and just focus on song writing. Unfortunately the international market wasn’t that interested in unknown Swedish songwriters, so they decided to record some of the material themselves. They realized they needed background singers and asked their girlfriends, who both happened to be professional singers, to help them out. They realized the girls sang better and moved them centre stage. They then released an album, which featured all four names on the front. They did pretty well, so they were asked to do some more, but their manager insisted they needed a band name, so they just went with their initials instead. Anyway, the relationships happened prior to forming the band, and the band was kind of accidental. Björn and Benny just wanted to write songs and none of them really wanted to tour. Yet they still hung in there for ten years.
There are two version of this (one w a cold ending) I visited (broke in) to the building where the video were made before it was torn down. Under Attack wasn't their last recording in 1982 though. In the future I recommend you to listen to Just like that (the complete version is available as a bootleg here on YT) UA and JLT has some small similarities if you'll listen hard
ABBA did not split just because of the marriage breakups. The fact that three albums came out while breakups were happening shows they could work together. They were basically exhausted, and the guys wanted to do musicals. In fact, they started recording their follow up to The Visitors but it never materialised because there was no motivation to go on, as by then they were all in different career paths. Under Attack and a bunch of other songs were recorded in 1982 show that the four individuals could still work together. Their compilation was also subtitled the First Ten Years. They themselves have said there were no hard feelings and during the forty year gap had interactions with each other now and then. And it can’t be denied that by 1982, they were declining in popularity so it was smart of them to bow out (albeit, unofficially) while still being somewhat on top of their game, at that time.
You have a media tailored superficial knowledge of ABBA. The breakdown of their marriage robbed them of the motivation to continue working together. Agnetha has said in an interview in the 90s that there's no such thing as a "happy divorce" that it was a "front " ABBA presented to the world about them.
Around the time Voyage was released/about to be released: Ulvaeus said: "We ended, and for creative reasons. We ended because we felt the energy was running out in the studio, because we didn't have as much fun in the studio as we did this time. "And that's why we said, 'Let's go on a break'. And we never said, this. We've split and we'll never reunite again'. We never said that. We just said back then that we'd go on a break. And this break has now ended. Sounds strange."
Under Attack was the last single release, although Day before You Came was the last song recorded. It did get remixing post Day before You Came, but was recorded before Day before You Came. Again, some of the vocal clarity is a bit muddled. Sometimes the musical backing is more prevalent and obscures the vocal lines especially in the higher register. Under Attack was one of their better efforts in the last batch of recordings but nowhere near their best stuff. As to Voyage, i would not evaluate it as you just cant compare it both vocally, nor musically to their early stuff when their creative juices were at their prime. It's more a novelty piece that we've all mostly forgotten to be honest.
I was a teenager and ABBA were my saviours, I suffered from depression back then, I listened to their music every day and this helped me stay sane. Today I still listen to their albums regularly, the bands these days don’t have the talents of these guys.
I remember this so well. It was so sad that this appeared to be their goodbye. Thank god for 2021.
Incredible jouney, thank you for react to ABBA, a band that will be always in our hearts
Best Band Ever

Yes, that's correct. They are missing "I Am The City" which is so 80's Futuristic Galactic Sounding.

Very sad... some things can come back so never give up on the good. That's why we keep listening ~ ABBA
Fun trip guys. 🔥 Can't wait for Voyage... trip's not over!
No wait guys! There's also 1982 'I AM THE CITY" included in the last set of songs they had recorded /"Like an angel" Demo, and even 'Dream world"?

While this was their final video as an active group before the 40 year gap, the final song to be recorded was The Day Before You Came.
Their best song IMO
Thanks for your ABBA journey ♥️♥️♥️♥️ I enjoyed every song you two did 😀😀😀 Greetings from Denmark 🥰

@@rockmybean5650Listen to Inga Theme, the guys first instrumental in 1970. And then IATC. And you'll hear they are similar

Can you do Three Stooges We Want Our Mummy?

I completely disagree. The marital breaks had a lot to do with it.

My favourite from 1982 besides TDBYC is Just like that
