Your pomegranate trees look beautiful, Joe! It's great to see so many flowers on your seed-grown tree; they are very ornamental flowers. The larger one you planted last year looks great too. It's great that it's been able to set some fruit despite the cooler summer, hopefully in a warmer summer they will develop earlier 🤞

@@PeterEntwistle thanks Peter. I love the deep red colours of the flowers. It may be a little to late in the year for the fruit to mature, but definitely happy to know they can a least set fruit 🙌🏾🌱

Great to see several fruits set Joe, I fear they are about 2 months too late to reach an edible size but perhaps I'll be wrong 🤞. The bigger the tree the better the chances 😁

@@lyonheart84 thanks Brett. I do think you are right about being a couple months too late… but still pretty chuffed to see fruit set. Hopefully as both trees mature, we may get some decent sized, edible fruits in the future 🙏🏽🌱

Lovely to see your pomegranate s have fruit set Joe.👏 I managed to film a couple of years ago a very large pomegranate tree here in Manchester that had fruit set. It was in a garden next to a wall which provided some protection, but the canopy as it was so tall was very exposed to wind etc. I think the age of the tree is definitely a factor in fruit set on the trees we grow in the UK.

@@louiseahmedtropicalplantgr5000 thanks Louise. Yes! I’ve seen your amazing video on the Pomegranate tree in Manchester fruiting 🤩
Your definitely right about the age of the tree being a factor in fruit set here in the UK.

Absolutely wonderful to see Joe. The secret appear to be microclimate, growing inground and the maturity of the pomegranate tree.

Micro climate is key for sure. I’m hoping for a better summer next year, so the trees flower much earlier 🙌🏾🌱

I`m quite surprised how pomegranates can grow in the UK weather, thanks for sharing Joe this will be my next tree trial for next year

@@farahbenbelgacem495 , surprisingly Pomegranates are pretty cold tolerant. They just need constant warm/hot summers to bear good sized, edible fruit.
This summer in the UK hasn’t been the best, but the tree has still produced some fruit set.
Definitely give it a go 🙌🏾🌱

Awesome that you have a seed grown pom that reached maturity. My "Wonderful" seed tree did the same this summer, even after dying back in one winter as they are not cold hardy up north where I am. Your poms will continue to grow up to hard frost, I don't pick my Afganski until mid November not letting the fruit get to 28°F (-2°C) for more than a couple of hours. That seems to be the number where most fruit will be damaged

It really is rewarding seeing a tree you started from seed, begin your flower.
It’s great to know the fruit will continue growing up until hard frost. I’m hoping they’ll flower earlier next year, for a better chance of mature, edible fruit.
