It's unacceptable for a criminal to get a few months or even a few years in jail for SA of a minor child. That person will get out of jail and do it again. I've read so many cases of a child kidnapper and rapist getting out of prison only to turn around and do it again. God, we need your help. This society is filth.
I worked in a psychiatry clinic for three years and worked with some very prominent doctors, including one who specializes in super creepy impulse control disorders and the consensus among the docs (we DID have p€d0s as patients) is, those people Do. Not. Change.
I agree, they give an innocent a life sentence of mental anguish and they think they can walk away. You take away a life by abuse, you should serve life
Im also a huge fan of your content - thank you for giving your insights into things like this. I don’t think I would have ever been able to make myself watch this, but listening to the content through you made it a little more palatable so thank you 😊 I have never watched the H & M doco so I cant wait to hear your take on it!
Sadly, I do miss the Harry voice. I sometimes do it when doing a chore I hate. “Why do I have to clean the toilets? Willie never had to clean the toilets.”
This has been heartbreaking to watch a victim by my siste. I was so scared then had uncles with wondering hands , my babysitters drunken disgusting men . Then I moved to Bournemouth right into the hands of a groomer .got out . Finally my mum and dad know the truth . I’m now with my best friend from school have 4 beautiful girls nearly 27 years later .. I so protected my girls they were not seen , not heard .. they are my life. I do hope they all manage to find a way to heal . God bless them 🙏 Hayley 🇬🇧 p lm
I worked at a school in Berkeley, California and there was great suspicion of the founder's son. He was definitely inappropriate and many of us suspected it was only a matter of time before the line of physical inappropriateness was crossed more severely. Had i been a direct witness, I'd think nothing of it to go to the police. It was mostly students and parents complaints on a separate campus from where i worked. Any employee putting forth their concerns would promptly be fired. The power was with the parents and students. But it's hard to convince them to risk being humiliated or getting expelled for trumped up reasons. It was found out another colleague and I were advising families to document everything and steps to take if one on one contact was requested by this guy. Of course we were fired. I understand kids not understanding high school is a blip in time and any stigma wouldn't follow them into the future (this was before Internet), but i wish parents were a little ballsier. Homeschooling want coming back then either. There's rarely one person who can carry the crusade until there really is. It's frightening how easy it is to have such a fire going for so long.
Cheere Denise, I've really enjoyed your recap series ...your effortless style trnslate to TV recaps as well as it does with books! Cant wait for the H&M recap 😊
I adore your book reviews and show recaps. Thank you for your lovely voice and point of view . I have taken from your Cheereisms for my “unholy self”. 🤣 Thank you!
Intimacy coordinators have been employed on many production sets to ensure adult actors feel safe while acting, but sadly no one is looking out for the best interests and protection of children except for (maybe) their parents. I was disgusted by the letters of support some actors wrote for Brian Peck to be considered by the judge at his sentencing hearing, especially those that blamed a child victim for tempting a sexual predator. As far as I know, there have been no consequences for these actors who have suffered no reputational damage or career setbacks for their support of a colleague who committed such horrible crimes against children. Sadly, it rests with the parents to ensure their children are strictly supervised on set, but they rarely receive support from an industry that only values their children for the profit they can make while sometimes exploiting these poor kids.
I am excited that you plan to review the Harry and Meghan TV nonsense. You were kind enough to save me from Spare and feel the same way about this. I really enjoy your reviews, but the Netflix series has the considerable advantage of not involving serious harm to others. I'm British and like to listen to episodes with tea or gin, depending on the time of day. Thank you for your interesting and enjoyable work.
Hi Cheere, so much great content. Didn’t know you do documentaries too! I am still catching up on all the great book reviews! Listened to you driving 3 hours on the Traitor King. So interesting!! ❤❤❤❤❤
It doesn’t surprise me Disney hired Brian Peck knowing his background. Disney has a bad history when it comes to its child stars. You should look up what they did to Bobby Driscoll and what came of him. It’d break your heart.
That was so harrowing for me and those poor kids. You're so right about the 20 year gap before its public. How many other kids lives would've been ruined had they gone on? And, some parents!! Same thing with the parents dropping their own kids off at Michael Jackson's place for weekends or weeks at a time. If he really wasnt guilty he did himself no favours. The parents though...beyond belief. Good luck with the HnM documentary, look forward to that one! Thanks for doing it for us who couldnt stomach it...bring a sick bag n try not to throw anything at your tv 😂 xxx
Another thing I found interesting is that NOW there is a NEW Documentary about Nicole Simpson… I always found these things tacky… bc the playboy girls / wife wrote all these books and Docs after death and now that OJ died Chris is doing another doc coming out on life time… talk about cowards
Ive watched Drake's interview with Yordi Rosado (mexican) boy, you can tell he isn't free yet from all of this. The interview was very telling and in my opinion the interviewer did an excellent work. Thank you for your great job as well.🎉
....and then Disney hired Brian Peck after he got out of prison. Bill Maher does a great commentary on this in this new rules episode--ruclips.net/video/oGtseVUw-_M/видео.html
It’s so sad that this doc series ends with a whimper instead of a bang. I felt the same way when I watched it like “That’s it? Huh.” I will second another commenter on another episode who suggested Little Girls in Pretty Boxes if you want to read about children doing extraordinary things while all the adults in their life are total shitbags. I know you are probably doing the Margaret book after Mountbattens (looking forward to it!) but it’s a suggestion for the list. Looking forward to you covering the absolute TRAIN-WRECK that is the Netflix series but girl, prepare yourself and update your will because you might actually DIE of cringe. It’s SO DELICIOUSLY bad!!! 😂
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this series. I watched it after your first episode and it was eye opening. Does make you realise people will protect bad behaviour for all sorts of reasons. We had the Jimmy Saville scandal here and it was so far-reaching and shocking when it came out. But it was an open secret and he was protected by so many public bodies. Wild.
I’m sad these videos get less views than royal family related ones so that probably somewhat discourages you from doing more, but honestly these are my favorites. I liked Britney and Jada books reviews as well and was surprised to learn they didn’t do so well with your subscribers. Excited to Harry and Meghan doc too but still look forward to you roasting/discussing other pop characters. I dunno may be Jlo ridiculous documentary or something 😅
I’m sick of royal content so I’ll still be doing videos about relevant content because that’s what keeps me excited about making videos even if they don’t do as well.
I hate to say this, but it is perfect example of why HEALTHY and trusting coparenting is a very real and needed part of parenting. I understand and can see how in a bad divorce [we do not know the relationship between the mom and dad] for all we know, he could have been an overcontroling, overbearing, over the top husband that caused the divorce, so she may have taken what he was saying as something that meant nothing and he was just trying to still control things, her son, and her- not saying I agree or that was even it. As a mom, I am just sitting back and trying to think what could possibly make her not pay attention. I really try to play the devils advocate to try to see other angles. If there is healthy and trusting coparenting, this would not be an issue. This is just beyond heartbreaking. I did not think I would be able to watch this at first, and it took me several times of starting, walking away and coming back. When he said, "I do not know how to say it more than think of the worst most awful way to be...." I started violently breaking down for him and every child out there. Watching the Prince of Tides on college put a visual that haunts me to this day. I am still trying to finish this last episode. Cheere, you took a h3ll of a story to do your first nonbook on. Wow. .... big hugs.
Watching the Netflix show on Haz and the Duchess is truly taking one for the team. I can no longer watch them talk directly.... They just get me so angry.
Oh girl. I will enjoy your commentary on your next choice, but I sympathize with what you’re about to put yourself through. Get yourself a nice cheek/facial massager for the cringe you’re about to endure.
Oh God, you are going to torture yourself by watching that H&M documentary? 😬😬😬😬 I will have to see if I’m willing to torture MYself by listening to your response. I have to admit, I am cringingly intrigued.
One thing Cheerie that I have noticed in my life is that it is dangerous to be around idiots! I can give you several stories of why (and I am not even involved in them)…. However, I can tell you that I would give an idiot security information about a trigger on my door that set an alarm off… I would tell this good neighbor of mine “do not tell anyone about this feature I have….” I would walk around the corner and listen and he would be telling my feature to a NEW neighbor…. The more someone says “don’t do this….” They will rebel and do it…. why? Because they have selective hearing… and they are dumb… I can point out situations with my mom… she will NEVER admit to them…. Then I will point out Facts to where she HAS to remember them… do you know what she told me???? “I choose not to remember!!!! I just want a happy life!” Honestly I think Drake is pretending to forgive his mom for her safety coming out with this series. That is just my opinion. There are fans and fanatical people out there… I kind of want to be a commentator like you it would just be over different topics. I am not mentally ready to put myself online yet. I haven’t been on media for 7 years now… I’m not in a place to do it right now. I don’t know if it would help me or hurt me right now to expose myself.
Well, people can be super lovely and supportive but they can also be low key snarky and condescending and then there are the people who are just wretches who want to hurt your feelings. Make sure you’re in a good place mentally and emotionally before you jump online…it’s a lot of fun but if what strangers say hurts your feelings or makes you angry or even makes you too prideful with their compliments, avoid becoming an online personality.
