- How to replace your foam air filter on a Bolens lawn mower with Briggs & Stratton E-Series engine. These are common on Craftsman, Poulan, Troy-Bilt and others.

Wear your safety glasses, or you'll put your eye out. Try on some gloves. Take off that spark plug boot. Clean your room. Open the windows, those fumes are nasty. Just 'cause I do it, don't think it's the end all, be all solution. There's plenty more ideas out there, I can't take responsibility if you slice off a few fingers after watching my videos. And don't just pour that toxic stuff down the sewer or in the ditch, dispose of waste responsibly. Just be safe, OK?

Chinese filters crumble up,and go in the engine. Nice to see you are using genuine filters.
I try and use OEM when possible. I think the cost evens out in the long run. Thanks for watching.
Cool! A few years back I cleaned the foam but this time around it's much too far gone, I can put my finger right through it. The intake looks clean though so I caught it just in time. Next job is the starter pull cord. It's frayed where it goes through the eyelet.

Dirty air filters can damage the motor it was told by the mower shop
Lack of airflow can make the engine run to rich. It fouls plugs and can cause overheating. Thanks for watching.
