Problem with Chainsaw is that by the time you've got a decent one I at least don't need a ton of wood. Making it not terribly important to spare the parts/gas/etc for it.
It's not in base game but there are mods to have a .44 turret and convert L_A rifle to use correct ammo. As lever action rifles that use tubular magazines to reload cannot use pointed (aka spitzer) bullet types due to high chance of causing a chain fire detonation in the magazine killing the user, (while also being unable to eject the used cartridge due to the cartridge's rebated rim of 7.62 vs .44m rimmed cartridges) due to the bullet tip resting precisely on the firing primer of the bullet ahead of it in the magazine. L-A rifles like in game should realistically only be chambered with rounded/flatnosed bullet types like .44m or .45-70 if more power is needed
@@ViralMag_Ravager It’s not a high chance at all, even when trying to get it to happen nobody has actually caused a chain fire. Not sure why you think a lever action can’t eject a rebated rim, it’s just a different ejector geometry which has been around almost as long as smokeless powder. I am running heavy armor. Two pieces of the nomad set for run speed and extra carrying capacity, nerd helmet for extra xp, and the preacher gloves. No, I do not get a full set bonus, but I think those are the best base effects from the armor pieces.
@@JaWoodle I definitely appreciate Editing Josh doing the science bit. That was great, and very helpful. Also, I know there's an overhaul out there that has the Glock 18 Auto in it, and it absolutely RINSES.
The Ranger Hat gets the same trader bonus as the Enforcer Glasses. T1-T5 you get 2% per level, and T6 doubles that to 20. Most of the armor bonuses double from T5 to T6.
I just figured out that bases with tents like the checkpoint are a FABULOUS place to get fabric. It only takes one swing with anything to take out a fabric block so you can scrap a whole tent in no time at all. There's a bunch of tents in that POI and it takes very little time to gather. Last one I did I got over 200 fabric!
The chainsaw (and I'd argue, the auger) absolutely need some top tier mod for them to become 'damage vs undead' instead of 'damage vs blocks' - the game is perfect for it, we need it!!
I think the chainsaw really excels if you plant your tree seeds and make a forest. Nice straight compact lines of 1200hp trees would drop fast. Gas isn't a big issue if you just farm shale for 10 minutes.
While the gas may not be a big deal, it is part of the equation on if it’s worth it. I say no, I don’t want to farm shale to farm wood. I haven’t tried it in lumberjack gear so maybe fully kitted out it’s a different story, but by the time that’s possible I’m not really out looking for wood anyway. Smack a stack of wood or a tree in passing while questing more then satisfies the wood requirements. If you’re making a huge end game base or something I could see the use, but even then I’m more likely to just build straight to concrete.
I have been using a Non-stealth Agility build (Mid-game, Day 70) with Nerd googles, Ranger Chest and feet, Preacher gloves. XP bonus, Stamina and Health bonus, Undead damage bonus. There does not seem to be a Set Bonus that I really like. Love the videos.
I can't wait to see how this base comes together with that carved out bit angled straight down to a boulevard view. This makes me want to tackle a taller POI for a base. You always have a great eye for pathing the horde to you in a POI adaptation. I wonder if you have a video on tips for picking POI's as bases overall, but more specifically for horde nights in the later stages of the game?
You could trade your tools(except the impact driver) for the auger/chainsaw combo + a stack of gas and never have to worry about running out of lockpicks. Saves you a couple of inventory slots and you don't even have to worry about screamers now that you have your hitman suit ;)
Hey josh, another hidden perk of the enforcer kit : if you read the magnum enforcer serie, on of them gives you a damage reduction while wearing the enforcer suit.
After actually playing 1.0 in ps5 and getting to day 70, i cannot imagine starting a new game and giving up on my old world. Especially after all my gear us upgraded! I don't see how you do it so easily!
All depends on what floats your boat at any given time. Starting over allows you to pick a different path, even batons if your community forces you into it. Also the pine forrest is the most pleasant biome to hang out in, wasteland is kinda ugly.

Another benefit to the chainsaw is that it doesnt cost stamina to use it, so it doesnt conflict with the stamina usage of running from tree to tree. With the axe, sometimes you run into issues where you cut a tree down, run to the next tree and then have to wait for stamina to regen before you can cut the next tree. With the chainsaw you run from tree to tree and the stamina regens while youre cutting the tree down.
So something to keep in mind josh is the unique on armour like the head slot is doubled between tier 5 and 6. so that lumber jack hat would give you 50% extra wood at tier 6 vs 25% at tier 5. this goes for all armour.
Chainsaw also uses no stamina. So speed is good and petrol is costly, but you can geind out some shale and save tons of time on wood and stamina in case of zombies or just to be able to run around! Side note its the nerdy chest not goggs that doubles book. Goggs just the xp!
I always carry Enforcer glasses with a cigar and a 44 magnum or Dessert Vulture. That is 30% better bartering. I always forget about the vending machine stuff. If you want to make some money the hunt bears at night. The testosterone and meat is worth a lot. Going stealth with the compound crossbow and steel arrows works the best for them. I also have the Nerd armor (I do not bother until I can make tier 4 then 6). A full set of Enforcer or maybe preacher would be nice for a horde night as you can not stealth. I would have hit a clothing shop to get some more legendary parts as a tier 5 is just a waste when you can make tier 6. I like the power tools as they do not use any fatigue, just fuel and fuel is not hard to get.
I don’t think you understand how OP the stealth is on this game now! You can literally run into a super infested tier five wasteland poi, spawn the zombies, run out of the room and crouch and they all forget where you were, leaving you to stealth kill them all.
Enforcer is all Light armor. Commando isnt bad for a Fighting set if want complete set, Head 29%Stun Resist, Chest 20% Crit injury healing, Hands increase ranged 50% damage, Boots run speed 20% and Recovery Item speed .
If you're wanting better loot check your lootstage and see what locations get you to or above 290. This is basically the cap for the quality of items you can find even though the number will continue to rise above it.

The first lever action in 30-06 came out in 1908, so only 2 years after the 30-06 cartridge. Winchester 1895 if your interested in them, neat old rifles.
@@jaydunbar7538 interesting. Would be great if they added a line of guns from the late 1800s.
Sad that the set bonuses for each set is so far inferior to picking and choosing parts of different sets.
Thanks Josh. P.C. power!
Surprised more people haven't mentioned the science was wrong too, it was only 30.16% faster. What a Muppet.
Depends on the direction of comparison. 50 is 50% of 100 and 100 is 200% of 50. So yes there is a muppet around trying to do math…
I went into the files and changed Lever Action to use .44 ammo.
If your name is Josh, press E. When will the DRPO and Dumpo box make a return?
4090 ti? wait a minute....
Gratz on the new setup :D
Yes he did a unboxing back a few vids of all the new stuff he got sent
@@jaydunbar7538 I think you are missing the point, the 4090 ti doesn't exist yet.
I saw the video :D
Anyway to restore a saved game that accidentally got deleted?
