You’re experiencing the familiar stages of The Warning discovery. We’ve all been through it. Looks something like this:
    1) Who are these girls, again?
    2) Damn, this is good.
    3) How have I not heard them before?
    4) They started when they were how old?
    5) How do they sound this good live?
    6) This one is my new favorite.
    7) They wrote a concept album about unrequited love, obsession, murder and madness as teenagers?!
    8) Wait - they’re grounded, family-centric, good human beings who care deeply about their fans?
    9) Why am I happy for and proud of this band?
    10) You’ve arrived at the healthiest obsession ever.
    Welcome to TWA!

My second favorite vocal performance by Dany, and you got to hear Ale, Ale does not like to sing lead but she will if needed on tour to give her sisters a break if they need it. All of us love any chance we get to hear Ale, as it is rare. Pau sings leads on several songs and the emotion she puts into the songs is amazing, Dany is Dany, always amazing and the consumate lead.

Excitement is always good for something like this :) Welcome back to The Warning! Be warned (pun fully intended): yes *every single one of their songs is mindbogglingly good*. They do not have a bad song in their entire catalog of original music. And it's a verifiable truth that your favorite song by them will almost always be the most recent one you've heard by them. They're that good.
This whole concert (22 track setlist) at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX (Mexico City) is just absolute gold. You could not choose wrong by going with any of them from here. I think that all of the songs from it have now been released on The Warning's RUclips channel.
If you want something from their newest release (Keep Me Fed, released June 28, 2024), you will probably like any of these, A LOT:
    * Hell You Call A Dream (Live from the Pepsi Center)
    * Automatic Sun (Tecate Pal Norte Festival footage, studio audio) (or live from Jimmy Kimmel, or live from MTV Push)
    * More (from that same MTV VMAs set with Evolve)
    * Six Feet Deep (official music video)
    Members:
    * Dany (guitar/lead vocals on ~70% of their songs)
    * Pau (drums/lead vocals on ~30% of their songs)
    * Ale (Ah-lay) (bass/backing vocals by preference)

"Choke is from the same 3rd album, Error, that Evolve is on.
Enjoy the couple lead vocal lines from Ale , that is , afaik, the only pro shot footage of her singing lead. She doesn't like to do it, but will if Dany needs a break or is sick, only fan cams exist though.
Pau does sing lead on some songs, like "Dust To Dust" and "23". Dany and Pau sing co lead on "Disciple", which has another great drum fill ,WHILE she is singing. All 3 played at this show.

Finding kindred spirits is a beautiful thing because sometimes it's impossible to really find words to describe the feeling something gives you. This band is so much more than its surface appearance, and the expressiveness is so much deeper that you never really find the end of it no matter how 'simple' a song may appear at first. So much heart and artistic intention. And yes some of us who also have ADHD find a special connection with Pau's processes (she has been learning to understand her own ADHD), because it's like finding somebody that can convey a lot of the things that you don't know how to bring to the surface. Definitely here for the journey, even if you don't hear from me much.

  • @peterwaterford9482
    @peterwaterford9482 3 месяца назад +8

You're doing a great job of immediately catching some of The Warning's "trademarks" - like "Choke" going straight into the "wear your tears..." pre-chorus, or Pau changing up her drumming on the second pre-chorus. Early on in my discovery of the band someone described their songs as "taking you on a journey" as opposed to so much contemporary music that locks into one groove and runs with it for four minutes. Another song from this album/concert, called "Revenant", is literally a campfire parable (the studio version has a campfire sound effect running through it) but it also has a middle-sixteen as opposed to a middle-eight. WHO DOES THAT? They're just spectacular songwriters.

Every performance in this concert is top tier. Dany and Pau are so dynamic that it's easy to overlook Ale's contribution to the band at first, but you soon realize that she is an incredible bassist and holds down her third of stage equally. These gals complement each other so well, each one contributing exactly what is needed to serve the song. As you work your way through their catalog, you expect it to level off at some point, but it just keeps climbing. Every song has something about it to astound you. Their songwriting, lyrics, arrangements, musicianship, and stage presence is superlative.

What is most amazing to me about this Teatro performance, is that they had reached that level of competency and showmanship at 22, 19 and 17 respectively. You know how Pau can be brutal behind the kit? She can also make you cry. Try Black Holes (about addiction), Revanant or Breathe. It'll give you an entirely different feel and show the band's diversity. If you catch Black Holes, check out the version from the Dakota Bar. They were 17, 15 and 13. On top of Pau's vocals, check out the intricate guitar work by Dany.

If you want to sample a ballad, I can recommend "Revenant" - either the scariest love song, or perhaps the prettiest death threat, you'll ever hear! :D ruclips.net/video/oqXcNOVmcjc/видео.html I don't want to be "that boy"!! hehe

The Warning has that ability like Band-Maid to just keep putting songs out there that keep you interested and switching your go to song almost every time you hear a new one!

You have just achieved the trifecta for me, my three favourite bands right now are Band Maid, Lovebites (who I`ve been into for a few years now) and The Warning, who I recently discovered. Really enjoying your reactions, you are doing great, keep it up!

In their young and long history, Pau sings many songs as lead. Each one is special, but the music and lyrics might bring you to tears, so be careful what you wish for. You been Warned!

They have 4 official videos out: Glitch, Daughters of Witches, Masquerade and Broken Glass.
Pick any one, you won't be disappointed.

Great reaction Eric, I love this. Thanks for the background intro - it's fascinating and I hope your son's interest in drumming continues, although you may regret it when he starts banging as a beginner. Your commentary reaffirms why I love these girls, their music, their musicianship and preforming skills. Good luck with your channel, you're off to a good start.

my favorite song changes on a lot of factors so i only list my 1st which was Free Falling and then Survive from Rock Band 4 looking for new music.
The Warning are more than a band, they inspire people and Freeze The Fall are a band that some of us TWA have supported on their kickstarter for their debut EP called Thrones. They have talent and desire and love it,
Be Good To One Another and ROCK ON !!
