For people in Northern Europe at least: there are washing machines with wool washing programmes available. No one ever seems to mention these. I have one, and since I use the wool washing programme, my woollies stay nicer for much longer than when I used to hand wash them. I would never consider a new washing machine without the wool programme! Because it also centrifuges the garments, they come out much drier and you don't have to air dry them so long. These days I also put my woollen hand knits on a wool cycle after soaking, so I don't have to roll them between towels etc., and my knits have held up fine.
My tumble dryer also has a wool drying programme with a sort of basket to lay your garment on. But I haven't been brave enough to try that one yet...

Also, when it comes to gluten free snacks and baking products.
I’d recommend the brand called: Simple Mills.
They even have gluten free Oreo type cookies.
But, the filling is cashews. If you are allergic to any type of nut, please be careful.

Thank you for all of your videos, Andrea, for sharing about yarn and spinning and a bit of your health journey. I love to watch you as I knit.
My sweetheart is a super sensitive celiac. Gluten is in so many things we did not know about. Quite a journey. Inhaling gluten can definitely cause flare ups. If you can smell that wonderful bread, you are inhaling it.
Gluten is also used in shampoos as well as dishwashing liquids - read labels and research. Some chocolate companies coat their wrappers with flour to help keep the chocolate from sticking. Because it is not an ingredient, that coating doesn't have to be listed on the label.
I wish you all the best of health.

Thanks for the really good points on cross contamination. Our daughter has nut allergies and we did a total fridge, freezer, pantry and cooking utensil clean out when she had her first , and only reaction 13 years ago. Toasters have to be replaced however you can use the toaster bags available on line. We also donated our clay cookware that was popular about a decade ago.
Love your sweater especially because you named it after your grandfather. So sweet.

1000% to the gluten information. I share a similar story. Eating out is hard. But it does get easier to learn and manage the foods. All the best, Kimberly

I've got an OXO mesh drying thingie (from, sigh, Amazon). It is a square made of plastic tubes with short legs, with mesh --think tinker toys meet trampoline. To store it, the legs fold down and the frame folds in half, so it can hang from a hook (on wall or side of dryer?), slide between the dryer and wall, or I just hook it over the clothes rod I put above the top of the washer and dryer . I love it for the air circulation.

I was given several light cedar frames. The frames are covered with black plastic deer netting and previously had various garden uses. One fits the top of my old claw foot bathtub perfectly and so provided me with a place to dry my first, and subsequent, fleeces. When someone wants the tub, I lift the frame to the top of our side by side washer/dryer, where it also fits. The heat from the dryer is helpful for drying blocked out sweaters and having a dehumidifier in the room drys the wool reassuringly fast. I arrived at this arrangement through a series of happy coincidences, but something similar might prove cheaper than purpose designed wool drying racks. Rolls of deer fencing are expensive, but maybe a length could be cut from the roll by helpful fencers in one's neighbourhood.

I searched for both "mesh sweater drying rack" and "mesh laundry drying rack" and eventually found a hanging mesh drying rack with three oval surfaces that works well for adult sweaters. Many are square or circular and too small for a sweater to be spread out flat. It is sometimes a fight to arrange sweaters for drying - not much space between the surfaces and it has to be hanging so it swings a bit. But I can hang it from the shower curtain rod so it's out of the way and sweaters dry evenly since air can circulate.

Hi Andrea. I was wondering if you have seen a doctor about your cough. I just watched a video by a doctor talking about “walking pneumonia.” Maybe you should get checked just in case?
