The more we moved, the more money the Bupa Foundation donated to help green our cities and communities.
Your steps unlocked a whopping £1,000,000 for some amazing green projects:
• £550,000 Green Community Grants Fund, UK - we’ll support 275 projects across the UK and ROI. Funding local schools and community groups to create outdoor classrooms, sensory gardens, community allotments and more…
• Urban tree planting, UK - we'll plant 25,000+ trees in London and Greater Manchester to improve access to green space, air quality and help prevent surface flooding.
• Miyawaki forest in New Delhi, India - we’ll plant 6,000 native trees to create a fast-growing, lush urban forest, helping to capture CO2, increase biodiversity and create a healthier city.
• Trees for Streets, Egypt - we’ll plant 5,000 fruit trees in Cario and Obour, Egypt to help improve the environment, feed vulnerable local people with little access to food, and help educate young people to help fight climate change.
• Emirates Nature WWF, UAE - we’ll plant hundreds of native trees in the Hajar Mountains in Masfout, UAE. This will support better biodiversity and honey production for local farmers.
• Clean water, Kenya - we’ll fund a water bore hole with pump in the Massai Mara, to provide safe drinking water to 2,000+ local people, and support livestock and agriculture.
