8:48 You are absolutely correct. Succulents can be dunked, doused r hosed. Ventilation is the key to preventing leaf diseases. I have a large arrangement, so my way of determining when I need to water is by weight. A thirsty pot will feel significantly lighter than a freshly hydrated one.
So how long b4 watering it again, please? I'm from Malaysia, can I put the babies in direct sunlight? I thought they're fragile but they seem quite hardy...I'm confused as they say don't water in winter or repot till spring in March but we don't have all these in the equator...
Very comprehensive guide. Really appreciate this vdo. I have been growing succulents since three years and i have realised that no particular schedule works for them. Different seasons also present different watering needs. Thanku
@@bredixon7685 soak and dry. Only water them when their soil is bone dry and then water until the water leas out of the drainage hole. Make sure to use a suitable substrate that allows proper draining, succulents don't like sitting in wet soil for too long
So far from the different channels I followed regarding on how to take care of succulents, yours is the best and very inspiring! Love all your videos!!! :D
Thank you for such an informative video! Your succulents are look amazing! I have a quick question. When you soak watering your succulents by submerging the whole pot in water, why there are no soil bits or covering stones coming out from the top of the pot and floating around? Thank you!
Wow, what an incredible beautifully healthy collection you have!. Thank you for all the great information… I would never ever be able to water my succulents with the rain shower like you do -they would definitely rot -but clearly you’ve proven different climates equals different methods as your collection looks so healthy and well kept! Thank you from Toronto
You are so nice 😍 Of course we living in a different environment so we have to find the way to watering the succulent. If your place have enough the direct sun light and you can try with another kind of soil mix with 80% of stone, may be you can try my way to water them. Good luck with your garden 😍😍😍
Qué bien cuidadas sus suculentas....hermosas todas!!!!!!!! Gracias por compartir sus conocimientos y experiencia en el cultivo de estas lindas y adictivas plantas....muy precisas sus indicaciones......seré su fan.
Great collection! Succulents are a very wide group of plants, pretty much only having one in common: storing water for later. So it's definitely not a good idea to follow any "water x per month" advice by book.. as with any advice for similarly large plant group, not even taking into account the enviroment you grow them in will change that too Right now I mostly have haworthia, they still need bright light but prefer less hours of harsh direct sun :) I had some issues with my previous buys when I didn't quite realize the amount of light that will be needed.. oops. Now I have a strong lamp for my sun lovers and haworthia are sitting around them, with less light from the lamp. Both on the windowsill, but I'm sharing the sun coming through the window with trees so it's mostly in sprig before the leaves grow in then I have to take care to not let my haworthias burn. I avoid any water on the leaves, Poland indoors is realy not a good climate to risk that ^^' They grew on me I must admit, I started as the usual "I love succulents for their bright colors" kind of plant person, and now I look at the transparent light catching windows and different shades of green (and some black!) in awe. I even have some hybrids of my own growing now, who would have thought. I'll need to plan how to sell them when they grow bigger... Edit: I also water them in the evening after the lamp turned off, I watched some videos by other succulent collectors that spoke that succulents drink at night! Maybe you can find it too if you're interested in the sciene part of plants, it made sense even though I never thought about it before! In colder climates the watering should definitely wait for most species with a period of full dryness of the soil, otherwise they can take in too much water- they don't lose it as quickly if it's not as hot! In fact for most of mine they are dry longer than they are moist, and I calculate when to water by seeing when the leaves start losing their plumpness ^^
Wowww, really excited and happy when read your comment. Seem like you are really a plant - succulent lover. Hope that you like our video and enjoy it. Thank you so so much ❤

You say to water “ not too much.” How much is that? One teaspoon? Some of my cacti/succulents are watered 4 months apart - when they are bone dry. Then I let them sit water and they soak all the water they can…. But they die I after 1 year anyway. Do you have any suggestions please?🌵

Succulents store water in the leaves/stem. Does it mean I can wait a few days after soil has dry out before watering again? How about watering only when the leaves are slightly soft to touch?

I’m struggling with a tiger aloe that was not growing much in the pot I had it in, it was also in the shade and when I removed it the soil was too wet and roots were rotting. After I removed brown roots & repotted it with fresh & dry succulent soil but it still hasn’t put out any new roots after a month. Can anyone help please? 🙏🏽 It’s so pretty and usually hard to find them here in Perth Western Australia. I don’t want to lose it.
I can pick up the small pot to feel the weight, like the soil is really dry. The bigger one will take longer, after 1-2 week, then I have to use a stick to check it. Sometime I forgot to watering but it doesn't matter haha

So when watering succulents they should be very wet? I thought they should be dry. Should you always keep them wet or let them dry out some?
