The Alperen Sengun Growth Spurt Changes EVERYTHING...

  • When Alperen Sengun was drafted in 2021, he came into the league as an undersized center at 6’9” who would have to rely on his footwork to get shots off in the post. He was also viewed primarily as a project, even though his highlights from the pro league in Turkiye are ridiculous. You should check them out if you haven’t seen them. Well two years later he’s proven he wasn't really a project, putting up 15 points and 9 rebounds per game in his age 20 season. He also led the Rockets in nearly every advanced stat. He led the team in BPM, Win Shares, VORP, PER, WAR, Raptor and LEBRON. He also had the second highest lebron rating of any sophomore last season. But one bigger thing has changed than his expectations, and that would be his height. Sengun reportedly is coming in at 6’11” barefoot this offseason, which makes him a 7-footer with shoes on in the game. This changes everything for Sengun. Despite having elite footwork, he won’t have to entirely rely on it in the post anymore. It will be easier to shoot over the top, pass over the top, and be an effective defender. This growth spurt takes an already high upside player, and explodes his potential through the roof. I’m not afraid to say it, Sengun was the best player on this team last season and likely still has the highest upside on a team stacked with potential.
Think about subbing, I'm on the road to 10k!!!

Sengun is a playmaking big in the mold of a Sabonis or Jokic, just super high IQ, great fundamentals, refined post game, displays advanced vision as passer, & just looks like a great kid who loves the game and is hungry to be better.. can’t wait to see my Rockets turn some heads next season🔥

Dude if this is true, he is the same height as the Dream, now he has length and skill! Ohh hell yea, the Dream is going to turn him into the next best Center in Houston's history. Fuck all that Wemby talk, we got a legit HoF potential PG in Amen instead in the draft and now finished the rebuild by bringing in the future at PG in the draft, if we got Wemby then Sengun and Wemby would battle. Now no one we drafted battles, just earn their role they were drafted to do.

My opinion, getting longer is better than getting taller. Height does allow you to grow to a bigger frame, but that comes with a price - heavier weight on your knees, feet and ankles.
Olajuwon was only 6'9 but had the standing reach of a 7'4 guy. He had amazing footwork due to his lower center of gravity but was long enough to guard 7 footers. You block with your hands, not with your head.

He'll never have a huge wingspan, but there were varying reports when he was drafted that suggested it was at least a couple of inches longer than his height. Presumably his arms grew along with the rest of his body, so he's probably right around the average center now in terms of wingspan.

No one on Denvers Roster is worth Trading Sengun for Except for maybe Jokic but there practically the same player they just look differentso that makes no sense either. Not even Jamal Murry, Would get you Alperin Sengun!
