These are the same clips on my Audi Q3 2021 model. I removed the visors - without any damage! Thanks! A small flat screwdriver and plenty of patience did the trick.
Best explanation I have seen in any how to video in a long time. Most guys just show how to and don't explain or even talk. Very helpful video, thank you!
Hi. The wire and plug pass along the roof lining and need to be pulled gently towards the opening. The glue will come away from the foam roof liner backing to eventually reveal the plug and socket. Once you plug in the new wire use a small screwdriver to push the plug and wire back close to their original position. No need to use glue.
It is interesting your original right sun visor with safety label but your new one without label. Actually I am looking for a same new one without safety label since my car is right steering. But through on-line shopping like Taobao and amazon, all of them are selling for left steering that the right sun visor with safety label. So, how did you get it?
You must buy the right sunvisor for RHD-Version, than it is without the safety-label. Every VW-dealer can find this in his ETKA-System and order it for you.😉👌
Use the method with two small screw drivers to release one clip and apply a little force to stop the clip from snapping back in then do the same with the second clip. The video shows how to release the clip with a screwdriver. After you remove the bracket carefully pull the wire out of the headlines and unplug it. Hope this helps
what a pig of a job ! wouldl love to see a vw technician do this with special tool lol . I done mine with minimal damage using a pick but i was lucky i think .I was expecting to take those first two covers of to find torx screws , jeez what was wrong with that idea ! vw again overly complicated .
I think it’s easier to release the front clip first then the rear clip. Once you release the first clip hold the visor so the clip doesn’t slip back in while you work on the second one. Installation is just the reverse order.
Thanks George, that's extremely helpful as I just got quoted $670 for a new visor!

My friend, thank you for the video. A bit fiddly is an understatement for these damn Volkswagens, now here goes the grab handles.

I'm just wondering in what world this kind of overengineered clip system is better or cheaper than a screw...
The only positive is it takes 2 seconds to install once the wiring is connected

Hello, How do you go about disconnecting the wire? and plugging the new visor in?
