Yes please! Finish the MD cotton notebook with us please! I have one that I'm using at the moment and it would be cool to see how you use yours 🥰 thanks for the little peek into your sketchbooks, really enjoyable video!

My favorite sketchbook at the moment is the new cotton Hahnemuhle small square. Also beta from Stillman and Birn. My favorite special sketchbook is from Koval, with Fabriano Artistico, I like it much more than Etchr for some reason. My alternative sketchbook for loosest work instead of Khadi is Fabriano Vergatone, but I really need a special mood for it. And my favorite sketchbook for actual experimentation with no pressure is Strathmore’s Visual Mixed media - where else can you get A5 cotton book for 10 euro, though I’m not a fan of spiral at all

Cannot describe how much I loved this video! What a fun way to look at progress and art styles while still receiving informative reviews! I might be biased cos I love your style so much, but the selection of journals and seeing all the artwork inside was SO satisfying. Thanks so much for sharing 🧡🧡

Loved hearing your thoughts on all these books. Also loved the flip through and revisiting some of your prior work. I have recently started working in both the Moleskine watercolor album and the Moleskine sketchbook. The paper in the watercolor album seems similar to your black Jackson's book with respect to texture, and I find it works best with light washes and other media (as opposed to heavy watercolor). The Moleskine sketchbook (not to be confused with their sketchPAD) is heavier, almost like card stock, smooth surface, and mid-cream color. It also takes light wash, acrylic, and dry media well. Moleskine books are pricey, though, so that's a drawback. 🥰🥰

I am currently going through my supplies and replacing tubes of paint, replacing dead brushes and picking out new sketchbooks. I needed some inspo Haha! This was very helpful. I think I will try the Daler-Rowney this time around. I love a wire bound sketchbook. I also love those strathmore mixed media sketchbooks. That paper is made in the US so I'm not sure if Jackson's is carrying it yet but they now sell a large roll of that paper for around $60. I'm thinking about ordering some. I really love painting on paper and have been experimenting with different kinds and methods. I look forward to seeing the finished process of your latest experiments with the oil sticks :) Happy Painting!

Thanks Alyona! Such a timely video as I’m nearly finished a few sketchbooks and looking for new ones to try. I like colour mixing and swatching colour palettes too so it’s great to see how these sketchbooks are likely to perform for me. Could you please list the sketchbooks you spoke about?

let's finish the sketchbook! I'm in the last pages of my own Midori sketchbook. I'm always sad to finish sketchbooks, especially if I love the paper, but I have some replacements now to continue working on once my first Midori sketchbook is done.
