Huntington is about 50,000 people, I live in a city about the same size and the local radio host is also pretty well known, Clint was on the radio for like 2-3 decades so I’m not surprised he’s famous. That’s just how rural areas work
I do remember when in like, 2002, I was in middle school, and there being a class discussion where we all voted on our favorite radio stations, and it coming down to 101.9 FM or 97.1 FM, each side having their own reasons, radio hosts included, in a similarly-sized city to Huntington. I don't know a single person who still listens to the radio, but 20+ years ago, yeah, knowing a radio host irl was bragging rights.
