I think Sakura meant to say that at first Chickens don't lay eggs but produce chicks like mammals. But as years go on, just like any species they adapt to their environment and eventually, somehow create shells to their offspring to protect them from climates and other animals thus the eggs.

Between the English "chicken or egg", it's egg, of course. As one of the commenters said, dinosaurs had eggs way before chickens were a thing. Fish lay eggs too. Mosquitoes lay eggs. Same with Sakura's Japanese translation (玉子 "tamago" being an egg). First eggs appeared about 300-350 million years ago; chickens came to the stage... 50? 60? million years ago.
Now, in Korean, they asked about 계란 "kyeran", which is specifically a "chicken egg"; and that's a nonsense question: they both gradually grew closer and closer to what we now know, from "totally junglefowl and junglefowl egg and no chickenity about them" through "i dunno, i guess you could call it chicken and chicken egg?" to "totally a chicken and chicken egg, what's junglefowl anyway", at the same pace.
But there is no scenario where chicken comes first :) Except if you entertain fanciful stories that ignore evidence, like Kkura's "chickens made eggs to protect themselves from the cruel world" :D
Ditto with embryos: chimps have embryos, gorillas have embryos, australopithecus..ses... had australopithecus embryos. most thing we recognise as animals have embryos. only human embryos make humans though, and only humans make human embryos. Some 300000 years ago it may have not been clear whether you're looking at a homo sapiens or homo heidelbergensis, same with the embryo that he or she was, and the embryo that he or she might produce.
"Butt" is also clear in English: "nobody says left butt, right butt". Indeed, "cheek" is a term... In English. But Korean only has 엉덩이 "eongdeongi", there are no separate words for "butt" and "buttcheek". You sit on your 엉덩이, she has a cute 엉덩이, some perv grabbed my 엉덩이, my left 엉덩이 is sore. Like one of your commenters on the stream said, English "breast" is similar. When you hear "His heart beats inside his breast", you don't ask "which one". And breast plate is not fitted to left breast and right breast individually. In some senses you just have breast; and in some senses you have two breasts. In Korean, sometimes you have one 엉덩이, and sometimes you have two 엉덩이. This is complicated by the fact that Korean doesn't normally use plurals: like in English there is usually no difference between singular "sheep" and plural "sheep": one sheep, two sheep, ten sheep. In Korean all nouns are like this unless you actually really want to point it out. So unless you actually number them, the question of "whether there's one butt or two" doesn't need to come up... unless you are doing useless debates for fans' enjoyment :D
Though they are absolutely entertaining :D the argument about the number of ㅇ in 엉덩이 being the deciding factor... i was on the floor laughing the entire time.

Okay, I think it is egg. I believe this because when you think way, way back a certain species could have come together to make an egg, that soon grew up to be a chicken. After that first egg was made more and more of that species came together to create more eggs that soon passed down that generation of chickens. Also, when you think about it, it is hard to think of a logical reason for a chicken to just pop up out of nowhere. That chicken would have needed to have at some point been an egg for it to have form a chicken.
Also, when thinking about what came first the embryo or human there is no logical reason for it to be the embryo. (or at least I can think of), but with the who egg or chicken thing there is a logical explanation for the egg being first.

Is Butt a whole or a pair, that's the biggest dilemma of the 3rd gen that it's still unsolved on the 4th gen.
