Great information
I haven’t done videos in a while . Would you want me to do more like this . Take care
Just getting started. You are a big help. Thanks
Thanks I got some full song writing and production videos coming asap. And feel free to ask any questions.
This is awesome, I really appreciate it! Great music. I feel shy sometimes to sing loud in my production because people in my house might hear me experimenting with vocals, but it was inspiring to see you doing it and killing it. Subscribed!
You have to really open lungs up to see what your are capable of . Don’t ever be afraid it will pay off to find your voice
I used to put thick ass blankets over myself so the sound is better, it also helps make it so others can't hear you. In the Army we improvised a closet and turned it into a vocal isolation booth. If you are insecure about being heard you can also put blankets under the bottom of doors etc, or have just whatever for improvised sound dampening
This was really helpful. I just got an MPC One+ today, just as another way to record/write outside of Logic or the occasional 4-track cassette recorder. I mostly make "indie rock" and the MPC seemed like a possible alternative platform to explore. I had some reservations almost immediately, but!.. It was cool seeing you just write some music, not necessarily just "beats" (though i do that too)... you helped me feel a bit better about the purchase. Cheers.
Glade I could help with the purchase. What sold me was hearing it was called midi control center .
You sing great!
That’s very kind . The song and melodies were just coming out in real time .
Thank you for such an excellent video..This was most helpful.
Thank you . Working on my new studio so I can make more videos. .
I got my mpc back in 2021 and only just started using it comfortable now. Its thanks to watching videos like this that showed me how to use it to my advantage. Love your energy, your like the midi version of Bob Ross on speed. Can you share links to songs you did using mpc genuinely would love hear them
Thanks for the compliment. I have a song called renditions that you can find on any music platform. The bob ross thing is really what I’m trying to do more of . I also have a new series of short videos where I go over all my songs . It’s fun check it out when you can.
Send a link and I'll be sure to watch, thank you
Your workflow is virtually identical to mine with the MPC One. It really revolutionized my studio and live work! Keep up the good work! I subscribed!
Thanks Darrick I really appreciate that . Working on bee vids now
beautiful work. and such a good setup. reasonably priced gear that is the best in its category and rivals the original/alternatives. the drumbrute, the model d, and the ju-06a, even the mixer and zoom fx. very smart setup
Thanks for the kind words . I’m still getting great comments like this that make me want to get back on RUclips

Awesome video. I could write a book here. Thank you so much!!! I just stumbled on your channel and I will be pestering you soon!!! Sorry in advance......
No problem. Been tough getting videos out . But hit me up anytime I try to check my comments every few days
17:36 I would love to see Simon's reaction to this.
Wait until you find out what drum explode does. It takes your finger drumming and separates the different instrument tracks into their own named track. So you can easily copy and paste just the high hats or the snare or whatever and create different loops. Its pretty useful once you find it. You just make any drum track and go to the pencil or menu options for the track and pick explode. Boom track exploded.
I’ve exploded only to export my tracks but not to use . Yet 👍
You're like me. I came from analog and I have become more reliant on hardware gear rather than a PC DAW. The Akai MPC series are the best of both worlds but you don't need a PC/MAC to get moving. They're great!
I started with multi track recording and being in bands . The boss BR 1600 RCD was my best friend for a decade .
Nice video my man! Subscribed!
That’s a big thank you from over here . More videos to come .
Very good video, love your energy! I just bought a MPC One so I will be keeping an eye on you. Subscribed!
Thanks . The new update for the MPC is not to bad .
Cracking video! Been interested in the MPC One for some time now, to create music, not just 'make beats'. Love your enthusiasm and you've got a belting voice too! Thanks very much mate. Subscribed. Your vid and Darrick's may just make me pull the trigger....
Thanks so much. New video up today and more on the way
Cool explained - many thanks!
Any time . New videos coming soon
Cool voice
You can also connect a wireless keyboard ⌨️ for faster typing. 😉
Nice tip . Did not know . 👍
There is something to creating music without a computer or daw. The MPC has a very steep learning curve (like 3 months to get really comfordable) over the maschine. But man if you're into it, then its worth it.
Agreed my friend . I had a lot of experience from using multi track digital recorders that it was almost a breeze to get started . But I feel like I still haven’t touched what it’s capable of
Dude, this was an excellent video. It really shows the dawless work flow for those using external synths and inputs like guitars, vocals etc. Great video bud, much appreciated.
Thank you . I’m trying to decide what type of content to make . Want to see more straight up videos where I show the process on the MPC ?
Absolutely would love that. The big thing I'm trying to figure out is how you go from a sequence with some midi data to a full song, bounced, mastered, etc. Seems like there might be content for you 🤷
Thanks again, my friend.
Im using the MPC One for a dawless setup. its perfect for sending midi, having nice built in (and per expansion got) instuments - i never will sell it ^^ Its my cow - and im using it every day
Hell yeah me too . Just write a new song with it I love it
Thanks for the great video! Do you know if there is a way to connect my MPC to my VST plugins in Ableton? I couldn't figure it out, but is surely should be possible. Keep up the good work!
the MPC can be turned into controller mode and woks with ableton it’s very easy to do . I suggest RUclips akai MPC masterclass on RUclips . Short and sweet videos.
Great video. In order to get your expansions in the expansions tab, you need to transfer them on your SD thru MPC software on your computer.
For real it is a pain in the ass
Nice toys 🔥 🔥
Thanks. The best thing is putting them to use .
Giving me Weeknd vibes
I subscribed!!!!!
Thanks so much .
🤩🤩🤩👏👏👏👏👏
Can you teach me how to map my hardware? How you run all the wires to the hardware to map 3 different hardware like yours?
Well I would start off by asking where are you are mapping too ?
Well first I use a midi splitter for my midi chords . One cable goes out from my MPC and and into the input of the splitter and out from it into of my hardware . Each neeeds to be on a midi channel . I have a video that shows how I run my audio into my interface using a patch bay . Check it out .
Great video, I would be approaching the MPC ONE from a singer/songwriting angle also so you really helped me to see how this might work. How did you record the vocal? it looks like you went thru the mixing desk but I'm just wondering about the connectivity. Can an external soundcard be connected to the MPC ONE thru the USB ports at the back so that I could use an xlr mic cable? Many thanks
Hey Noel . No a sound card will not work but a small interface can be connected with ease if you need the xlr . I used a mixer and ran it into a separate recording device to record the video
Many thanks Jesse. I'm old school and usually call an audio interface a soundcard so maybe there's some confusion there. I see people on RUclips using a focusrite Scarlett with the MPC One so are you saying that something like that can be run into the MPC to expand inputs into the device?
Dope....question, how do you have multiple midi ports and are able to record multiple hardware synths? Do you route them altogether between each other? Lol nm I see the mixer 😁 really cool what mixer is that?
Thanks for the vid 👌💯
I use a small 4 Chanel midi splitter to control multiple synths . Just remember that your synths need to on different midi Chanels . Also I just bought my mixer I got the behrenger . Really good for the price . I have the scarlet 18i20 to record multiple tracks at once . I can hook it up directly to the MPC as well .
What was the expansion pack that you first played? Thank you for your content.
Should be the Marco Polo pack volume 1 . Thanks for enjoying
Thanks for the video! This is the explanation I was looking for, not to replace Cubase, but to have a kind of old school hardware sequence (I still have a Kawai Q80ex but it's at my mother's house) to avoid distractions on my computer and have a smooth song writing process, and finishing everything later on Cubase.
One question about the JU-06a. Does the MPC One record audio from the Boutique's USB or only MIDI data?
Cheers!
Glad I could help . I was searching for a couple years myself and was just looking for someone to tell this thing could make full songs .
You killed that shit bro 🔥🔥🔥
Oh thanks bro . I got a few other videos coming soon check them out if you have a chance . You got to love the MPC 1
What do I do, when I want to create a song which is based on something an external drummer plays on eDrums?
I ould prefer to use my MPC one, record the hole track he plays on his drumset, chop the recording in pieces, define sequences and then add all the tracks I want.
Is this possible with the MPC One and HOW? Or would it be better to record it in MPC Beats and lay the groundwork there?
Or do I have to define every sequence first, befpre recprdomg the complete external drums as 1 Song in 1 Take?
Great question. If you have a song ready to go and record then I would just go to my daw and get to work . Now the new firmware allows you to go into full daw mode and record like a basic track or just record in every sequence separately and it will still play as a song . Take care
Check out Poli Popo videos, he is the Bob Ross of MPC and is a SME.
17:17 seen you on a mountain peek.
Double press the stop button to immediately stop playback of ANY audio.
Sweet I’ll check that out . Thanks for the tip
MPC One is the most powerful standalone groovebox currently available in 2022.
I have to agree . I couldn’t believe I found this gem . As a so called rocker I was never using this type of gear but I am now . So stoked
I'm thinking about getting one do you think it's better than the live 2 ?
I don't know if you are still reading comments ... been working on using the mpc one (had it about a month) to record my beautiful Korg Kronos sounds (going through Yamaha 10mgxuf mixer). I've been recording audio files, but the dang thing records the metronome click track. Can't figure out how to stop that. You said you can record hardware with midi, and then "send the tracks back through the mpc to become an audio track." I'm a noob at much of this. Can you explain how to do that?
If the click track is on it will be sent through the outputs . You can change setting for the click to only work when playing not recording or vice versa or both . If it was me I would send the synth directly to the MPC inputs so I can add to the signal/ part after . You might be getting the click if you play it through your mixer while sending the synth through it . So go directly in the MPC . Skip the mixer .
Hope it helps
How do you record vocals if the MPC One has no XLR or mic preamp?
That’s a great question. I would never expect to put in a main vocal performance in the MPC . At most a back up or cool vocal effect like a female voice or a over processed voice like robot / auto tune would be the most I would do . You can get a adapter that converts XLR to 1/4 inch and use a dynamic mic or try to use a interface one send it out in mono or try stereo if all fails . A mixer paned left or right will send a mono signal out as well .
Can you sequence audio track
Hey my friend. Audio tracks live inside a sequence so it’s a part of each sequence regardless if you are using them or not . Hope this helps . You can chop the hell out of audio and do all kinds of stuff with it .
this shit fire, just release the song
I wish it was that easy . But o do have some song up on all platforms. Spotify is an easy place to go listen to my work . Just look up long lost robots. . Thanks again
@Long lost Robots hmu if you need a demo mix + mastered to put out to fans. first single free of charge ;) I'm good too. but yeah man no worries
I thought MPC stood for Music Production Center? Are you connecting all your gear up with 5 pin midi cables or are you using USB midi connections?
When MPC was first made it stood for midi production center . Not sure when it was changed . I use 5 pin connectors and a midi splitter.
@@longlostrobots8146 Thanks for your reply. No matter what it's called, it's a kick ass machine. KAM One???? LOL 😆
Too much talking..
Thanks for the feedback. Would you like to see more real time songwriting on the MPC . Less talk ?
