    This is awesome, I really appreciate it! Great music. I feel shy sometimes to sing loud in my production because people in my house might hear me experimenting with vocals, but it was inspiring to see you doing it and killing it. Subscribed!

      I used to put thick ass blankets over myself so the sound is better, it also helps make it so others can't hear you. In the Army we improvised a closet and turned it into a vocal isolation booth. If you are insecure about being heard you can also put blankets under the bottom of doors etc, or have just whatever for improvised sound dampening

    This was really helpful. I just got an MPC One+ today, just as another way to record/write outside of Logic or the occasional 4-track cassette recorder. I mostly make "indie rock" and the MPC seemed like a possible alternative platform to explore. I had some reservations almost immediately, but!.. It was cool seeing you just write some music, not necessarily just "beats" (though i do that too)... you helped me feel a bit better about the purchase. Cheers.

    Wait until you find out what drum explode does. It takes your finger drumming and separates the different instrument tracks into their own named track. So you can easily copy and paste just the high hats or the snare or whatever and create different loops. Its pretty useful once you find it. You just make any drum track and go to the pencil or menu options for the track and pick explode. Boom track exploded.

    You're like me. I came from analog and I have become more reliant on hardware gear rather than a PC DAW. The Akai MPC series are the best of both worlds but you don't need a PC/MAC to get moving. They're great!

    There is something to creating music without a computer or daw. The MPC has a very steep learning curve (like 3 months to get really comfordable) over the maschine. But man if you're into it, then its worth it.

      Well first I use a midi splitter for my midi chords . One cable goes out from my MPC and and into the input of the splitter and out from it into of my hardware . Each neeeds to be on a midi channel . I have a video that shows how I run my audio into my interface using a patch bay . Check it out .

    Great video, I would be approaching the MPC ONE from a singer/songwriting angle also so you really helped me to see how this might work. How did you record the vocal? it looks like you went thru the mixing desk but I'm just wondering about the connectivity. Can an external soundcard be connected to the MPC ONE thru the USB ports at the back so that I could use an xlr mic cable? Many thanks

    • @longlostrobots8146
      @longlostrobots8146  2 года назад

      Hey Noel . No a sound card will not work but a small interface can be connected with ease if you need the xlr . I used a mixer and ran it into a separate recording device to record the video

    • @noelbridgeman99
      @noelbridgeman99 2 года назад

      Many thanks Jesse. I'm old school and usually call an audio interface a soundcard so maybe there's some confusion there. I see people on RUclips using a focusrite Scarlett with the MPC One so are you saying that something like that can be run into the MPC to expand inputs into the device?

  • @KnowledgeOfSelf144
    @KnowledgeOfSelf144 2 года назад

    Dope....question, how do you have multiple midi ports and are able to record multiple hardware synths? Do you route them altogether between each other? Lol nm I see the mixer 😁 really cool what mixer is that?
    Thanks for the vid 👌💯

    • @longlostrobots8146
      @longlostrobots8146  2 года назад +1

      I use a small 4 Chanel midi splitter to control multiple synths . Just remember that your synths need to on different midi Chanels . Also I just bought my mixer I got the behrenger . Really good for the price . I have the scarlet 18i20 to record multiple tracks at once . I can hook it up directly to the MPC as well .

    Thanks for the video! This is the explanation I was looking for, not to replace Cubase, but to have a kind of old school hardware sequence (I still have a Kawai Q80ex but it's at my mother's house) to avoid distractions on my computer and have a smooth song writing process, and finishing everything later on Cubase.
    One question about the JU-06a. Does the MPC One record audio from the Boutique's USB or only MIDI data?
    Cheers!

    What do I do, when I want to create a song which is based on something an external drummer plays on eDrums?
    I ould prefer to use my MPC one, record the hole track he plays on his drumset, chop the recording in pieces, define sequences and then add all the tracks I want.
    Is this possible with the MPC One and HOW? Or would it be better to record it in MPC Beats and lay the groundwork there?
    Or do I have to define every sequence first, befpre recprdomg the complete external drums as 1 Song in 1 Take?

    • @longlostrobots8146
      @longlostrobots8146  16 дней назад +1

      Great question. If you have a song ready to go and record then I would just go to my daw and get to work . Now the new firmware allows you to go into full daw mode and record like a basic track or just record in every sequence separately and it will still play as a song . Take care

    I don't know if you are still reading comments ... been working on using the mpc one (had it about a month) to record my beautiful Korg Kronos sounds (going through Yamaha 10mgxuf mixer). I've been recording audio files, but the dang thing records the metronome click track. Can't figure out how to stop that. You said you can record hardware with midi, and then "send the tracks back through the mpc to become an audio track." I'm a noob at much of this. Can you explain how to do that?

    • @longlostrobots8146
      @longlostrobots8146  Год назад

      If the click track is on it will be sent through the outputs . You can change setting for the click to only work when playing not recording or vice versa or both . If it was me I would send the synth directly to the MPC inputs so I can add to the signal/ part after . You might be getting the click if you play it through your mixer while sending the synth through it . So go directly in the MPC . Skip the mixer .
      Hope it helps

    How do you record vocals if the MPC One has no XLR or mic preamp?

    • @longlostrobots8146
      @longlostrobots8146  Год назад

      That’s a great question. I would never expect to put in a main vocal performance in the MPC . At most a back up or cool vocal effect like a female voice or a over processed voice like robot / auto tune would be the most I would do . You can get a adapter that converts XLR to 1/4 inch and use a dynamic mic or try to use a interface one send it out in mono or try stereo if all fails . A mixer paned left or right will send a mono signal out as well .
