We need an LCMS sponsored apologetics team. They need to be effectively a Lutheran version of Catholic answers. Lutheranism suffers mostly from people not even knowing it as an option nor its rich history. They need to be on every social media putting out short form videos on doctrine that excite young people like me desperate for tradition without the accretions of Rome to bring them back to LCMS. If you can’t grow the young then you will whither slowly.
Question for you ..If a person rejects any part of the Lutheran Catechism, is that person rejecting Jesus? Or can such a person know God and be found righteous on the day of the Lord? Your belief on this question...
Depends, many doctrines can be reject and you’d be heterodox but not heretical. There is a good distinction there. It goes along the lines of how wrong can you be but still be within Gods grace.
@NyghtingMan How about the belief about closed communion? Is that in the Bible? How about the belief that pastors have special forgiving powers that the greater priesthood of all believers do not have? Aka the keys to heaven...
@@nilsalmgren4492those would not be salvific Issues that would condemn you. On the other hand the LCMS has the authority to impose these restrictions on their member church’s and discipline pastors that do not adhere.
@@nilsalmgren4492 not heresy to disagree with them, but LCMS has the authority to punish pastors that do not preach these doctrines. I think they would be heterodox but I wearily to easily condemn like the papists and EO.

@NyghtingMan If you can be a Christian and know God by disagreeing with these doctrines, why does the LCMS cause division within the body of Christ?
