This movie really made the true Ari come out. You can tell this is her first love and she’s so comfortable and happy in her craft. ❤ when you’re happy with what you do, you can articulate anything.
There is no validated test. For example with a pregnancy test it could be validated by seeing if the result matched with a baby coming out. No validated test means the only reason to do one is to shift blame away from reality. Let's take a moment to think of Dr. Reiner Fuellmich smiling from behind his jail cell in occupied Germany. Someone who didn't sell out like these artists but organized a whole investigation collecting testimony from important sources recorded to help secure a bright future and stop this ever happening again. This is someone who knows that happiness isn't all sunshine and roses. It is hard work but so very fulfilling.
I’ve been saying this since the press tour began! She seems to have found her true authentic self during the making of this fim and despite the constant unnecessary critiques about her body, she for once seems truly content and happy!
I knew and worked with Ariana on many theatre productions when she was a kid. I was the Artistic Director of the theatre company she was a part of. The talent was always there. I’m so proud of her for returning to her first love. I’ve been hoping for it for 15 years.
I have faith in her that there was some sense in doing wicked. It is clique and they had to admit how good Ariana's performance was. I think I found an original version at one cinema so will probably go and see it in English. There is something quite sad about it all The genie back in her lamp. I feel sure it is laced with some original flare. Ariana preaching to the theatre. lol.
I went for the fourth time last night.. Ariana is dream casting for this bit you can feel the difference between the audience reaction to her in the beginning to her late in the film...I think a lot of people just thought she was an airhead who could hit high notes but she's just AMAZING. She was born to do musical comedy!!and the scene with her and Cynthia, and Kristen Chenoweth and Idina Menzel❤💚🩷💚🩷 the Broadway OG cast sharing the scene with their Hollywood counterparts was so next level 🩷@@catkin-z8g
Ariana is a gifted impressionist. Don’t believe me? Watch her mimic Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Celine Dion singing in the Jimmy Fallon show.
I don’t think I’ve ever been this invested in a press run before, but I find myself watching every interview Ariana and Cynthia do. I could honestly listen to them talk for hours. The love and care they’ve poured into Elphaba and Glinda just shines through everyyyy time they speak and their excitement is so genuine and contagious
So do I, I look for something everyday I just love them. Weather they are together or separate. I love the way they interact with each other and take care of each other. Wishing them all the awards they deserve.
Firstly: this is one of the best Wicked interviews I’ve seen. The moderator is smart, thoughtful, curious and generous of spirit, allowing the actor to really TALK and shine. Secondly; Ariana Grande’s performance in WICKED will go down in history as one of the BEST of all time. What a towering achievement, rightfully compared to the likes of Goldie Hawn here. BRAVA to both women for a fantastic interview. 👏🏾
and THAT is our Galinda. her passion for this character is so fucking evident. All of the hard work, the research, love and care she put into her, learning Glinda inside and out. the absolutely casted the right gal. You can just see how much gratitude she holds for getting to do this role. I cannot express it enough, how happy I am for her that she got to do this. She needed this, and seeing her so proud and passionate about this is so heart warming. She is a light and such a gift. Her talent is unmatched. I cannot wait to see her blossom further with her love for acting.
Damn she was really spitting in the ladder half of this interview about Glinda's character during no one mourns the wicked, I'm so glad she understands Glinda inside and out.
I started getting emotional when Ari started talking about grief and galindas experience with it. I’m sure she’s speaking from her own experience with it as well, so sad yet beautiful
LMFAO! She didn't think "give me my leg" was funny? That was one of the funniest moments in the film. Everyone was dying in my theater when she said it.
24:20 the way she says “NO ONE is as brave as Elphaba” truly breaks me. God that breakdown on the song is incredible and I saw every piece of that, and have been explaining it to friends who villainize her. Everything she said, I READ that shit. She did so well. Rooting for her Golden Globe and Oscar.
ariana has shown so much maturity in this role and in every interview for it. she has really won me over more as an actress than a pop star and that’s saying a lot because i do like most of her music.
This right here. I felt the same. I’ve always loved her voice it’s beautiful. But as a person. It was her acting/performance in this that really won me over most and with all these interviews. Though she did grow on me a bit during her time on ‘The Voice’. But yeah as a person/actress she won me over more with this!!! She was so damn funny and adorable as Galindo/Glinda. 💚💖💚

This is the best interview so far.. she is revealing all the important stories. No one mourns the wicked - she explained it to the point . No wonder many people find it so emotionally complex to watch as Glinda manages all the emotions but also being a hero to the munchkins. Her watery eyes and holdback cry was noticeable maybe not to all the audience but the ones who were connected in that moment. Thanks god the girl asks why the wickedness happens, right? I'm astonished how popular ending scene was created a day before. This is a very much needed touch to the song. It made her her own.

Both leads knocked it out of the park. If I was Ariana, I'd probably be bored with singing alone. Musicals seem to be her true forte because her acting was superb. Great interview by Shaw!!!
She is so well-spoken and thoughtful about her approach to acting and the character(s) she portrays. I wasn’t the biggest Ari fan previously but this movie has really opened my eyes to her talents.
I feel the same way as you. I do like only a bit of her previous music. But it was Hairspray Live that made me want to see more of her theatre kid side.
I’ve gained a whole new respect for Ariana. This experience she’s gone through for Wicked has really transformed her into a grander person. I look forward to seeing what’s to become for her.
“Give me my leg” in certain contexts wouldn’t even be that funny, but the way Glinda says it as if she genuinely believes he will listen to her is SO funny 😂
This woman is insane in every way possible, she's the epitome of talent and it's time for people to finally recognise her for what she has achieved and not for the things she did 7+ years ago.

I will admit I'd judged Ariana harshly based on some things I've read about her in the past and the 'scandal' on set, but I separated the stories from the art within her performance (plus her personal life is none of my business) & I have a new found respect for her I never thought I'd discover. She fully embodied & immersed herself in the role that I can't imagine anyone else as Glinda. A stunning performance & I'm looking forward to part 2! From Manchester, UK 🇬🇧
its such a beautiful thing to witness that she is really, making the character of her dreams with Glinda. You can actually feel it too while you are watching it, the movie was made with so much love and so much passion that made feel, even for the ones who had no idea about the story prior the film, like me, that you are watching a beautiful piece.
I’ve wanted this more than any other stage to screen adaptation. And I have to say Part 1 was slightly above what I expected. Wicked sparked my love of musical theatre when I was a teenager. And I waited nearly 20 years for this moment.

I’m totally and fully invested in all things Wicked! I went in blind to see this movie, knowing NOTHING about the story. And let me just say “Something has changed within me!!” I can’t get enough of the story so far, interviews on anything 😂 and the soundtrack has taken over my life in the most beautiful way. I’m even in the last stages of putting together our Wicked themed Christmas tree! 🌲 This interview was amazing, and Ari and Cynthia are spellbinding! 23:02 This is SUCH an interesting topic. I'm getting ready to go into government work during a very uncertain time for the US. The reversal, that *Glinda* could have said to Elphaba, "Think of what WE could do together," jumped out at me. I had a similar thought at this conundrum when watching the film, that perhaps together they could have changed things from the inside, but maybe that's my naivety and optimism trying to justify entering an obviously corrupt system. Then again, we don't have quite the authoritarian rule that is depicted in Wicked... yet. But I can't help but push back at the idea that Elphaba is the bravest person for effectively running away. I don't blame her, nor do I think that conversely Glinda is brave for staying. Instead, I think they both chose what comes naturally to them: Elphaba removing herself from the situation because it has become untenable; Glinda staying because she has spent her whole life playing the game. Such an interesting and nuanced discussion of character - can't wait to go watch Cynthia's interview next!
If Disney & Disney Studios are planning on doing a live-action remake of Hercules, then I think that they should cast Paul Mescal (Gladiator II) as Hercules, Ariana Grande (Wicked) as Megara and bring back Danny DeVito to reprise his role from the 1997 original animated film as Phil ASAP!!! I would love to hear Ari singing “I Won’t Say I’m In Love”
I’m not missing a single interview the two of them are doing, I could listen to them for hours. This movie and their relationship off-screen and on-screen are so inspirational.. I’m truly changed after this whole thing in so many ways 🩷💚
Just give them any movieaward possible and let the oscars rain. Paint them pink and green and just hand them over. This thing is in every minute absolutely stunning, full of heart and joy and had the most beautiful craftmenship I have ever seen in every single department. It's a masterpiece and I'm so grateful for it.
She is a comedic genius... She always was hilarious in her SNL sketches and in Victorious but this movie elevated her to the next level. It felt like watching Goldie Hawn.
Great conversation! The moderator did a great job - interesting questions and genuinely flowed with what Ariana would say. And as a Wicked fan, I liked hearing about Ariana’s insight into the character psychology.
It is a GIFT. Her timing is insane and comedic intuition is insane. 20:04 The way she pivots from “How would you be able to hear sh-anything” And the afterthought delivery of “☝🏻And she’s far”

Amazing interview. I am so happy she is getting her flowers, she deserves it.
i love our two witches so much🩷♾️💚
She is a comedic genius... She always was hilarious in her SNL sketches and in Victorious but this movie elevated her to the next level. It felt like watching Goldie Hawn.
🥳🎉💕 Thank you for this. She's such an inspiration. I'm so proud of her for her accomplishments.
I know right?!!!! Arianators unite!
i like how she said she wanted to EARN the role and started working with the vocal/acting coaches
She's winning the Oscar
Great conversation! The moderator did a great job - interesting questions and genuinely flowed with what Ariana would say. And as a Wicked fan, I liked hearing about Ariana’s insight into the character psychology.
Stand up comedy Ariana was on display here
YES
It is a GIFT. Her timing is insane and comedic intuition is insane. 20:04 The way she pivots from “How would you be able to hear sh-anything” And the afterthought delivery of “☝🏻And she’s far”
Ariana’s glinda was one of the best performances of the year 🩵
She’s so wise, I love her so much
She deserved to live her dream 🎉🎉🎉 I loved the movie. Both did well!
