She did say he was joking. Realistically it was probably a continuity thing. Reshooting scenes where she didn’t have the zits or filming additional scenes that take place on the same day as other scenes that were filmed prior. Not trying to defend Sam, but I could see how super prominent zits could be a small problem in some cases
