They are. Its just a very soft skin tight overall suit underneath with normal pants and the loose shirt. Best uniforms I have ever worn they are so free to move in.
This show was definitely the second best I've ever seen. Bloo 2017 had a tuba feature, and my sister plays tuba, so I might be a little biased lol. You did amazing this year, and I am stoked to see next year's production! People don't understand how tiring marching band, and let alone drum corps, is. If anything, it's more of a sport than soccer, football, tennis, etc. etc. You did amazing this year, once again. I don't know if I'd still be alive if not for the Bluecoats. :) (by the by, it's a long story, but for about four years of struggled with se1f - h4rm and su1cidal ideation and attempts... so many that I've given up counting. Finding Bloo is what has motivated me to push through. I want so badly to join them in a few years, even if I'm unable to) Also, a friend of mine plays trumpet, and she'll be amazing in marching band with me next year! She plays insanely loud, so I think that she'd also be perfect for drum corps lol
I did actually, I took a year of modern dance at my university prior to the season. It helped a lot with all of the sit rolls and ground choreo mostly.
how does your playing sound so clean while you're bouncing that much while marching? not trying to pick on your marching btw - my marching generally looks very smooth but I can feel every step when i play and so I can't make stable sound because of that.
@@AugistBear how are feet relevant? this is when bouncing, so unless your solution is to stop bouncing (which isn't what I'm asking) then I don't see why they matter.
A lot of the bounce is the camera itself, you are going to see it more in a head mounted go pro than you will hear it in the sound. I can do a lot to keep the sound steady between weight transfer in the feet, core engagement, and air stream, but the camera is just strapped to my head.
@@samlasalle3853 good point, but I'd think you would still have to bounce somewhat for the gopro to bounce, right? and yeah I can and do make my marching smooth, but even being at least one of the top 5 marchers in a 160 ish person band I can still feel every step. I was thinking there would be a solution where you do something differently with your arms to hold the instrument more stable to your face, but I guess maybe it is just marching. or maybe it's just me exaggerating it because I can hear it better than your headcam can.
Everyone but the leads was required to use lotus but we did get fitted during the pre-season. We were essentially using lotus equivalents (or close to it) of our normal mouthpieces back home. I'm an outdoor player so I don't really care what mouthpiece we play on as long as its not system blue, I hated those back in 2018 and 2019 at BDB. A lot of members weren't huge fans of them but they did help us match each others sound. Not sure if we are gonna use them though.
Stop calling a uniform. It’s a costume, and NOTHING about it says Bluecoats. That said, CONGRATS on your #2 post at finals this year. Tons of devilishly hard work, and I hope y’all did feel rewarded for your efforts.
Our operations team actually does call them costumes LOL. I'm just too used to saying uniform. While our costumes may not be blue, or coats, they are recognizable as bluecoats because of how unique they are each year. I love how they designers don't feel limited to any one color pallet and can really use the costumes to enhance the art that is each bluecoats show.
the way it started raining during the ballad was just perfect
The way Jon vanderkoff fucked Samia while he was married to his wife with his kids
It's insane how physically demanding this show is.
but such a little amount of playing time.
so little playing time and they run around the field so much.
Last year it was Akron and this year Canton getting rained out, but cool performance. Good luck at Prelims today
i learned the garden of love visual…
THAT'S MY BOY!!! SO PROUD!!!

Amazingly weird show!! Did you take any dance classes pre season? Choreo goes crazy

It’s all about the feet and your core. You have to be relaxed, yet firm.

After I am assuming using them for the summer, what is your opinion on Lotus mouthpieces? Were all trpts required to use them?

I'm not a brass player so I don't know much, but why does it look like the front of the mouthpiece is seald shut?
I think a lot of it is the way the light was shining on the mouthpiece, the silver glare caused it to look like it was closed

Full uniform? Looks like someone went to the grocery store on a Sunday morning still wearing their jammies.
