  • Learn How To Roundhouse kick with disgusting power using simple Muay Thai Kickboxing techniques. howtofightnow.com If you're trying to learn Muay Thai kickboxing, how to kick harder, or just how to kick, watch this.
MMA Techniques work really well in any fighting scenario. These MMA kicking techniques will help you to strike harder and knock people out with your legs. Learning how to throw a Muay That roundhouse is a great step in learning how to fight. This video lesson will teach you everything you need to know about the best roundhouse kicking form and technique.
Lot's of people want to learn how to fight, but they have no idea where to look. You can find a lot of street fighting videos on RUclips, and a lot of videos titled "how to win a street fight", but most of them are crap. I personally don't want to learn from some dude punching a couch cushion in his back-yard, with his twitchy girlfriend holding his IPhone camera... but that's just me.
I created the fight smart training program to teach people how to fight with REAL TECHNIQUES that work... I gathered them in my career as a professional fighter. If these techniques work in the cage, they will certainly work in a street fight. A lot of times, I had these moves used against me... and it hurt.
I don't care what your purposes are: self-defense, a personal quest, or just to be a more powerful bully... it doesn't matter. My job is to provide you with the realest fighting moves out there, and to teach you how to fight and win every time. Be sure to check out my website... I have far more video on howtofightnow.com than I have in my RUclips channel.... and they're free.... because I'm cool like that.
Check out the website and good luck learning how to punch, how to kick, how to do Jiu Jitsu, how to do Muay Thai kickboxing, and how to do any of the other Keywords that I'm trying to target by writing this channel description.

THIS kick is definitely a fight ender. I once had a student who possessed zero martial arts ability, limited flexibility and not much athletic ability. For months we worked one kick: the Muay Thai round kick on the pads. One day he asked me why we only trained this kick. I told him if you ever have to use it, you'll see why. To make a long story short he got into a mugging situation, instinctively blasted his attacker with one kick, knocked him into a garbage can and left his attacker moaning in pain on the sidewalk.

I don't know if you all realize (and I apologize for sounding condescending) but I've studied the mechanics of perfect round Thai kicks a lot and this guy is great. He's getting a lot of views because essentially this guy is saving you a lot of hours trying to try work out all the subtler mechanics that other vids don't fully go through. You still need to practice a ton and he's still giving you only an overview but some little tips like the knee in the mid kick are invaluable so thank him!

This video has really helped me out. I'm just getting back into my martial training after a long hiatus and I have to tell you that this short video and your excellent instruction have made the roundhouse kick make so much more sense to me than anyone else has in the past. In five minutes, you've helped me learn how to take my roundhouse kick to a level I never had before and I'm hopeful that with enough practice, I can achieve something close to the level of skill that you've achieved. Thank you!

Hahaha.... yea I have all kinds of good stuff. It's just simple physics in a lot of cases. You see the video on elastic recoil yet? That's one of my favorites just because it goes deeper into kinesiology... the correct term is actually "stretch reflex", and it's excellent stuff.

When I first transitioned from tkd to Muay Thai we were going over the round house kick and the instructor was getting mad at me because I kept habitually snapping the kick instead of swinging into my partner like an axe. Was the most frustrating few first weeks of muay Thai trying to adjust

I have a Tae Kwon Do style snap kick so when I took Muay Thai for the first time it was very difficult to transition the kicks into a full body roundhouse. Awkward body movement because I didn't recognize the pattern at the time.

Nicely explained. The power is in the pivot!
Same as with the side kick. Also, keeping the knee high initially is crucial. Seen plenty of black belts who didn't understand this and threw their kicks with the knee down and this has driven me crazy for half my life. Love the way you break this stuff down.
    Your videos are awesome!

Something travis pointed on that is as important as pivoting is stepping passed the person before the pivot. If youre facing the person and are parallel to them and are kicking with your right leg, you want to step passed them to the left. That way the most mid point (and most powerful) of the kick will be dead square at your target. On the flip side if you dont step before the kick the mid point and most powerful point of the kick will take place before you get to your target.

The problem with martial arts instructors, they talk for almost the entire video and at the very end of the video do one thing related to the video's title. What helps people understand the move is if you keep doing it not talk about it, you correct your form with time.

I know bas personally, all you are doing is regurgitating exactly what he said without understanding it. You ever see bas just standing in one place? His feet point almost directly out to the side. Both he and crocop can do a full split. Bas has built a style that works for HIM and his body, 99 percent of individuals will need to pivot to put their body in the correct position to kick. If you're Bas rutten, you can cut corners.

  • @FightSmartTrav
    @FightSmartTrav  11 лет назад +1

Let's talk straight up physics for a second. You know that you need to pivot for a strong kick. Having your foot flat on the ground is going to make it much harder for you to pivot. This has to do with the coefficient of friction between your foot, and the ground. The more surface area you have on the ground, the more friction you will have stifling your pivot. By going up on the ball of your foot, you DRASTICALLY decrease friction (less surface area), and make power more effortless.

I'm new to Thai but the first mistake I can see is stepping into the kick. Yes, it helps you perform the kick but your opponent will see this and be able to react by checking or blocking the kick every time you throw it. If you need to step into your kick disguise it with a check, it's possible to perform the round house without stepping and throwing it from your hip

and im sure youve learned from that lose. Its crazy how you have fighting down to a science....like when you explained how to punch harder you explained it perfect. When you do bench press your weakest when your elbow is bent, but once you get past that 90 degree mark, your arm automatically explodes. Ive never thought of that, my mind was BLOWN

I know it was from bad form, I am eight-sided dominant and my left foot (which I refer to as my Frankenfoot ) had to be put back together with 9 screws and 2 titanium plates so it doesn't work as well as I would like. I've been doing kung fu for about 1 year now, and the way we practise round house kicks is 30 kicks each leg. However before the pivot our foot is flat on the ground because when the foot is planted your force isn't rising up its ground level allowing you to direct MUCH MORE FORCE into the opponent if you were to follow your kick through. I've seen a lot of MMA and Mui Tai fighters kick similar to in this video and I want to understand why they elevate their force.

It always sadden me to hear people use karate as a bad example, while I know it doesn't have the best reputation, I know for a fact that you don't always do the snap kick.
Having practised karate for years now, I can safely tell you that we definitely pivot and follow through as well, while some exercises are done with the snapback, any proper dojo will teach you to follow through. It's definitely not a kick solely used in muay thai.
Other than that, it was a good video :) props to you.

TravMan I love this video and your one on head movement out in the street (where you had real dudes in the neighborhood try to hit you but mostly couldn't due to the head movement technique).
----Can you do a video on the most effective combinations between the hands and feet? ----
I come from a boxing background and believe in throwing punches in bunches (3 or more strikes per combo). Honestly, when Intry to combine explosive boxing combos like (1-2-1-2 or 2-3-2-3 or 1-2-3-4 with Muay Thai style strikes I just doesn't seem to flow as well when you consider the distances, defense, footwork, and. Adjoins strike options compared to boxing and MMA or Muay Thai aka integrating all of that together just doesn't seem as smooth as it should be).----Are you cool with doing some videos showing how to combine Muay Thai and boxing into explosive advanced multi strike (like 4 or more strikes from all 8 limbs) devastating bad ass combos?---This channel is THE pimp!

you want to strike with the lower part of your shin, above the part where your foot pivots up and down. If you go too high on your shin you can break it, same with if you go too low.

Trav, your videos are really good, but have you thought about changing your business plan (if your aim is to earn something with this) somehow to be "RUclips only"? I know there's lots of RUclips video providers that are making pretty good money. Plus I cannot see how people are going to mass-register to your site, even though you have lots of good stuff there. I've been watching your videos for a while already, but I haven't even considered registering, since I have so many other registrations all over internet. I can't say how others would like to watch you content, but atleast I would like to watch your videos only on RUclips, where I already have an account and tons of other subscriptions. Keep up the good work!

Trav wussup, hope everything good. I been desperately searching for someone with your level of expertise and with your type of personality so that i can relate to what i'm learning. I'm from NY not sure where your located but i wanna learn and possibly personally train with you. I have a couple of situations that are effecting me because I'mm not capable of handling them. If you can please respond I would appreciate that.

Your Knee is awfully bent at point of impact. Almost looks like a defensive kick. I understand keeping your leg bent in order to connect with the upper portion of your shin, is a good idea for defense, but an attacking round house is normally 85 percent straight on impact.
Always good to see other versions and methods. Cheers Trav

In the muay thai, you need to open a little more your legs and kick more with your shin, if you continue to kick with your foot, i think you gonna have problems in the future.
    Just my opinion.
    Sorry for the english.
But its a good vid and you have my like.
