What is your favorite Fantasy faction?
Definitely the Chorfs
I have been summoned the greatest and best of Skavendom none are better than my superior mind.
Yes Total War Warhammer 3 is the best game
Nagash is the Great Necromancer the Undying King and one of the greatest characters in all of warhammer, he’s also so strong that the chaos gods themselves have a healthy fear of him
The best book series to get into warhammer Fantasy is Gotrek and Felix. The first book is called Troll slayer and by the end of Gotreks adventures in fantasy he’s so strong he’s killing any of the Primarchs. Also Gotrek and Felix are my favorite warhammer characters and probably my favorite characters in all of fiction.
He forgot the Vampire Coasts in this one which are just Vampire Pirates
Re the Total War games, each one has different playable factions - and you can combine them to make a super-campaign 😊
if you buy the 1st and 2nd games and all their dlc then it will all transfer into game 3. otherwise, all you have is game 3. its a good amount of playable factions and characters that you get and it often goes on sale for very cheap. i highly suggest it all if you actually get into the game. wait for a sale and see if you like it until then. good luck! skaven are the best faction period!
@@HistoritorJimaldus love this! Thank you 🫡🙏

You can also buy the individual DLCs from the other two games and you can use them in game three. You don’t necessarily need the base games to play all the races in game 3 unless you want to play as the base lords that came with those games.
It’s basically a modular game. You buy game three and if you like it then decide what bits you want to bolt onto it.
4:39 about the bloodlines, the Lahmians are technically the oldest, since Neferata was the first vampire, queen of the Nehkaran city of Lahmia, she shared an elixer with the people that would become the founders of the bloodlines, Abhorash of the Blood Dragons, Wsoran of the Necrarch, Vashanesh (aka vlad) of the von carsteins and Ushoran of the Strigoi.
After Lahmias destruction and the death of Nagash the bloodlines spread out all accross the world, Abhorash became a wandering knight, drinking a dragons blood and becoming immune to all weaknesses that Nagash had cursed vampires with, he turned warriors that he found worthy into vampires. Wsoran and his bloodline of Necrarchs sought out more necromantic power, becoming reclusive, they would also find a way to not require blood, they simply needed to feed on magic, however by doing so they looked far more skeletal and decayed.
Vashanesh vanished, he popped up throughout history, but only established the von carsteins very late, after all other lines had been established. Ushoran with his strigoi the most monstrous of the vampires founded the Strygos empire, and it was succesful until Neferata, jealous of his succesful founding of a vampire nation that coexisted with the living in public orchestrated its destruction, driving the strigoi to hide and flee, many of them becoming mad and insane.
Neferata for her part took over a dwarf hold and founded the Lahmian sisterhood, basically the vampire illuminati, she and her bloodline influence politics, economy, trade and much more.
@@jefrosiers8880 thank you for this!
@@dpatriot4130 no problem, I always enjoy to see more people find out about the lore

@@jefrosiers8880 😳😳
Each of the Total War Warhammer games focuses on a different region of the Warhammer world. Warhammer 1 is focused on "The Old World," Warhammer's equivalent to Europe and the factions there. Warhammer 2 is set in Ulthuan, Naggaroth, Lustria and the Southlands (Africa and Americas equivalent). Warhammer 3 moves the focus to the north and east of the Old World region seen in Warhammer 1, the lands of Kislev, the Chaos Wastes and the Empire of Cathay (Warhammer Asia). However, the main feature of the series are the Mortal and Immortal Empires campaigns. In Warhammer 2, there was an additional campaign called "Mortal Empires." If you owned not only Warhammer 2 but also Warhammer 1, you could play in a larger campaign that took place on a map that combined the regions and playable factions of Warhammer 1 and 2. Warhammer 3 brought with it the "Immortal Empires" campaign which combines all three games into a mega campaign. There is the drawback of many factions being DLC, meaning that you not only have to own all three games but also all of the DLC for each if you want to unlock everything.
@@kingkong381 very well explained! Thank you 🙏
Warhammer Fantasy is my favorite fantasy setting. It's equal parts depressing, goofy, grim, and heartwarming. Most of the world is hanging on by their fingers against the numerous and terrifying threats this world has but hang on it does and in a way that inspires you. It is a world where a plot that would end everything is foiled by a band of local heroes who after getting their reward party so hard they are thrown in jail after and lose all their earnings in court fees, bribes, and fines. It is a place where a vampire might decide he wants to be Emperor and all the other electors are like "No, we aren't even going to consider the ramifications of an undying emperor and what that would do to the legal code, not happening". Its people maybe stubborn, set in their ways, and prejudice others on sight but it's also a place where great strides in culture, law, and technology are constantly being undertaken and pushed forward by the natural ambition every race in Warhammer Fantasy shows.
Amazing comment! 🫡🙏
The series to read for fantasy is gotrek and felix, a dwarf and a human who travel around and fight the biggest threats in the old world.
Definitely will!
@@dpatriot4130 gotrek and felix is also arguably the best warhammer book series period, it sure as hell is in my opinion at least
@@rihardsaar4635 It really is, legit one of the most fun fantasy series ive read
So awesome that you are delving into Warhammer Fantasy/ Old World lore recently! I watch Pancreasnowork as much as I can lol
I would also recommend a few other channels such as: “The Book of Choyer” if you want vids that tackle surface level lore on different factions or topics in a more in game cinematic style, the “Wizards and Warriors” if you want to get a sort of lore documentary of famous characters/battles/ events that happened in the lore, and finally the “Lorebeards podcast” once you have a more complete understanding of the lore of Warhammer, because the podcast delves deeper into lore subjects than most. Even ones that aren’t talked about as much or popular but often misunderstood in some way etc.
Thanks, Jake!
Total War Warhammer 3 has the Immortal Empires campaign, which has all the factions from all 3 games, duking it out on a massive map of the entire Warhammer world. It's the only one you need to play.
Basically the Total War Warhammer series is one huge game broken down into three modular parts. If you want “the whole package” (and the best graphics, although the differences are pretty minor) just start with TW:III and go from there)
@@dungeon_crawlers 🫡🙏

Also gotrek and Felix is a 16 book series I’m on book 15 rn

@@dpatriot4130there great books , I’d recommend listening to them on audible because it’s hard to get them physically because GW prints the warhammer books in and out , so for example in like 2years they’ll come back and after that they’ll go away again , plus the narrator is great 👍
@@dpatriot4130also there called “gotrek and Felix” it’s all told from the pov of Felix
After Ciaphas Cain, those are my favorite warhammer books. Absolutely fantastic
Total War Warhammer 3 is the one you should play. It has all the content from the 1st and 2nd but better and it's getting updates. It has quite the learning curve so be prepared to not do well on your first time playing but as someone with 1000 hours in it I'd say it is very much worth learning.
@@Irimu_ thank you!!!
It doesn’t “have” all the content. You still need to pay for that content to have access to it in the immortal empires campaign
If you have all 3 , you can combine all of them into one mega map in the third game and play with faction from all 3 games in 1, (minus dlc units and characters, factions)
You play as a faction you have reacted to on a map of the planet and then you run the faction and battle others a
3:57 so the main campaigns of each game is standalone + DLC. You play on a smaller map. “Immortal empire” is the massive map with EVERY playable. If you play total Warhammer 3 but just buy 1&2 with their DLC (WAIT FOR THE SALES!) you can play every faction you own from 1 and 2 in 3. Sisters of fate are one of my favorites and the tomb kings are GREAT for new players. Play it!

I began collecting and Orc and Goblin army back in 1985, I also have Dwarfs and Bretonnians (just addes in the last year). This was my first exposure to Games Workshop, and at one point you had books that crossed over between Warhammer and Warhammer 40k. It made for some fun play.

@dpatriot4130 i recommend ruclips.net/video/OCyXNk0Lz_0/видео.htmlsi=TSJ78p9dGdv6WwRT . This explains the origins of the tabletop game and their editions. The creator Arbitor Ian has a similar video about 40k.
Skaven, Vampire Coast, and The Empire are my go to factions, but Skaven stand out as just being so wholly unique. They’re always entertaining and wacky and technically they are the ones that win in the end since they actually succeed in destroying world which is where the story of Age of Sigmar starts.
If you want a good quick vibe of each faction, watch their respective trailers from the Total War Series.
Always love your comments. the Skaven are 🔥🐀
@@dpatriot4130 literally in many of cases 🤭
The Skaven are basically the imperium in 40k
Everyone recommends Total war 3 for immortal empires, but total war 2 is probably the best vanilla experience. High elves, dark elves, lizardmen and skaven. Includes easily the best dlc picks in the entire series
Total war 3 is still going through it’s dlc life cycle. It might be easier to get into it if you limit the scope
Well said!

In addition I'd really recommend his Video "40k Isn't THAT Overpowered" it gives a nice humorous overview of powerlevels between universes, with a real nice conclusion.

The Dwarfs don't hate anyone, they just remember.
I’ve been a fan of the Warhammer Fantasy world for over 35 years. There are so many novels based on the miniature game its lore is very very deep. I hope you take a deeper look sometime, I think you would really enjoy it very much.
Also, the Bretonnia horse thing was a joke. The Bretonnians are a horse culture with Pegasuses and Hippogriphs. So they Love Horses. Like giving them better treatment than the serfs, not that other thing.

Total War: Warhammer 3 is linked to the other 2 games in the Immortal Empires Campaign. The Story Campaign is just Part 3. Also you won't have access to all factions (at least not the DLC factions). I recommend only Immortal Empires. The story campaigns are not that good otherall. With Part 3 and Immortal Empires you won't need to play 1 or 2. They combined all the maps in Immortal Empires from all games.
at first warhammer world was in the eye of terror in the 40k universe but they split them up into different areas
If you want to learn more in-depth stuff about Warhammer Fantasy, I recommend to watch the Lorebeards podcast. Andy Law has worked at several Warhammer fantasy projects so he not only talks about what is in the books, but also whhere the inspiration came from and "how would this story have been continued, if GW decided to publish a follow-up" and such.
Skaven, best thing about Warhammer Fantasy imo, an original and fascinating faction. And the greatest, bravest, most insane Skaven of them all - Queek Headtaker! Along with his trusty right hand manrat, Ska.
PancreasNoWork has a couple of dedicated Skaven videos. 'The Book of Choyer' too, namely his "THE ORIGINS OF THE SKAVEN" and "The Great Skaven Clans Lore Overview" videos.
For Queek Headtaker check out the dedicated video by 'The Book of Choyer' and also "Queek Headtaker: The Best Character!" by 'Human Boy YesYes'
Total war warhammer 3 is the current version of the game. But the factions from the previous 2 games and their dlc all integrate into game 3 so if you buy any dlc or older games all their content is updated in game 3
In my opinion most of the factions in Warhammer fantasy are really interesting even the ones I don't like, but the Skaven are probably the most fun to dive into as they are so bonkers

For anyone starting totalwar warhammer 3! What got me in to total war: Warhammer is so that I can make dinosaur armies fight mummy armies then found out about the lore. Buy all 3 of them but play the 3rd one
lol that’s so cool
Total war warhammer is basically one game with a bunch of dlc, do okay as every faction and legendary lord you need to but everything, including warhammer 1 and 2 and all those dlcs
Beastmen, Skaven, and Lizardmen are my favorites
You also have the Tigermen of Ind and the Naga of Khuresh etc…. 😅
14:24 sigh* look, Pancreas despises Bretonnia, I kinda get where he is coming from, but he takes it too far sometimes, Bretonnia had the unfortunate fate of still being stuch with lore from an earlier edition in which every faction was made to be the absolute worst while theo others all got lore updates. (apparently the lore will now finally be updated with the old world, which i am grateful for)
still if you look into the lore they are generally incredibly interesting, and for all pancreas may say "she is an elf godess", i'd reccomend checking out the lorebeards episode on the lady of the lake, because instead of elves, she chose the bretonnians as her champions.
@@jefrosiers8880 will do
The lorebeards podcast has two hosts who are deeply familiar with the lore, the episode on the lady Goes into bretonnian lore and also its development by games workshop, Andy LAW one of the hosts used to be one of the writers for warhammer lore, he is also the one who reintroduced the gnomes into Warhammer fantasy
Just play your Total War Warhammer game, recommend getting the 3rd one only for now and you will have more grasp on what kind of world the Fantasy is. It's pretty good introduction through the game to this lore as there are tons to learn too if you want to read inside the game the lore.

Vampire Counts are definitely up there with my favourites as well, the story of Vlad Von Carstein is dope
I’ll have to check it out. Vampires are so damn cool lol
At this point total Warhammer 3 is just the quintessential experience. The only reason to go back to previous ones are for their campaigns and most people agree they are pretty meh at best. Warhammer 3 will have everything in it and the Immortal Empires mode is a map of the ENTIRE world of Warhammer Fantasy. It’s better to get the DLC’s and play 3 than go backward and have less things to enjoy.
Bears noting, the Total War games are 4X. It's light 4X with an RTS emphasis, but if that term doesn't mean anything to you, you may be in for a nasty shock. Imagine Civilization mixed with Axies and Allies, and you might be somewhere in the ballpark of what that it.
Anyone looking for an accessible Warhammer Fantasy game may want to try Vermintide instead. It's Left 4 Dead with some RPG elements, and there's even PvP multiplayer where you can play as the Skaven. The PvP's not well-balanced, or so I've heard, but it's there. Also, despite Darktide being out, Vermintide 2 is still getting new content.
You should react to the trailers for the three total war warhammer games. They’re pretty sick
Will do!
Sigvald the Magnificent
As for the pc game I believe they all add up the map when you play the mighty empire game mode which is all I play to be fair lol
He hates Bretonnia and they have a shit load of Cavalry so he's riffing on that. They don't do the stuff he's joking about. They are basically medieval French Knights. Think the battle of Agincourt and the Hundred years war.
Total War Warhammer 2 is the beat of the 3, but 3 isn't too bad. They've been tweaking it for a while now
you really should read the Nagash triology
Don't believe everything this video says. Beastmen are actually pretty good army on the tabletop, you just have to know how to play with them. Skaven are not the most evil faction, that honour goes to daeomons with chaos warriors close second. Skaven are pretty evil, but it is mostly self-serving, they are all about social hierarchy and the climb of status. They are not above backstabbing their superiors and bullying their subordinates, but that's just what social status is all about.
I hope next will be Age of Sigmar, its technicall ANOTHER different universe, but bigger. Its the the true counter part to Warhammer 40k.
Basically, GW wanted to end warhammer fantasy, and blew it up (literaly). But only to be reborn better as Age of Sigmar. But some wantet the old world back and now there is basically 3 Universes.
Also in cannon, the Skaven won in the end times (crashing one of the moons into the planet will do that). Pretty much everyone died, and the skaven were the ones left standing. Many of them were able to make it into the Age of Sigmar universe due to shenanigans. And the Great Horned Rat, their god, He ascended to be the 5th chaos god. So hes held in regard next to Nurgle, Tzeentch, Khorne and Slaanesh. He's considered the 'weakest' of the five...but thats still scary.
Oh damnnn, very scary lol
Title is strange, almost suggests there are man sized rats living beneath the citizens of the Empire, which of course there is not.

The settings are separated by the Warp.
If 40k is on the left, the Warp is in the middle, is on the right.
And it is a popular theory that the Eye of Terror is the doorway connecting the two settings.
But the AoS/Fantasy side of the Warp has some crazy lore
The Warhammer that Warhammer is named after is Sigmar’s hammer and it is wielded by the Celestant Prime, the super Primarch of the Stormcast.
