  • Eiffel 65's Blue (Da Ba Dee), played by two electric toothbrushes, three credit card machines, two electric typewriters, and one steam iron. In this video, I also used a halogen light bulb to make light effects.

In addition to good recording/mastering, I imagine the simple frequency content of the music helps it survive youtube audio compression. A larger number of more complex instruments would lose more, since compressed audio can only keep so many frequencies at any given moment.

If you were around when it was originally released, then you definitely hated it for a period of time around then.
In the UK you could not go into pub/bar, takeaway or even supermarket without this playing atleast once. You couldn't listen to most music radio stations without hearing it or music tv/programs playing it. And don't dare mention what was happening on the net around then!
This didn't just last for a couple of weeks this was for months on end, its was everywhere and it was relentless!

I hold a weekly video session for students at recess/ lunch. They submit videos and I scour the internet for my usual inspirations like Device Orchestra, and we enjoy creative music of all genres. We've watched vegetable orchestra, Minecraft videos, Blue Man Group, Hildegard von Blingin', ethnic arts like taiko or Riverdance or Secret Drum Corps, memes like Nyan cat and Leek Spin/ Levan Polka, major/minor flips of popular songs, animations and videos of all kinds from HISHE parodies to amateurs catching something random on their phone (pre-approved of course; Epic Rap Battles is saved for after graduation or I discuss why they're not appropriate for school when inevitably someone pulls one up). We learn each other's interests and are exposed to new ideas or old ones revisited. We watch videos they create and post. We support each other and discover together just how powerful music is as a cultural expression.
If you aren't learning something at university it falls on you to go above and beyond. I always valued video game music; my professors scoffed when I chose to write essays on Koji Kondo and Nobuo Uematsu instead of Holst for the umpteenth time, even though I'd argue the Mario, Zelda and Pokemon themes and One-Winged Angel, Chocobo theme and Victory Fanfare are just as iconic nowadays as most every motif from The Planets. When they read my essays on technological limitations and why early NES music has extremely Baroque tendencies their eyes were opened a bit. Nowadays it means I have a connection to my students through Skyrim and Undertale, Crypt of the Necrodancer, Friday Night Funkin' and other genres that most adults in their lives ridicule.
Be the change you wish to see in the world. Universities by default are stuck in the past, and too many professors are more keen to keep their tenure than risk their neck discovering the new or seem like they're accepting something of lesser standing... like when marching band dropped Friday and Gangnam Style because they were, and I quote, "...meaningless internet jokes."
      Best Wishes.

The song, chenille stems, googly eyes, so much nostalgia all packed into one nice little vid. RUclips algorithm brought me here so technically this is the first vid I've seen that's yours. The algorithm did not disappoint 😁👍👍
