I wouldn't say he's butchering his songs, he's changing them a bit to make something sound new. I guess he's played those songs so many times that he wants to play them differently.
I went to his show on Friday night in Dublin and he played this version of Conrad. It was amazing to be honest. The show kinda bombed though, so many people walked out before it was over.
@@1989davecass its kind borring as I think... soul was in songs before, now its s good sounding (but not always) songs with landscapes. Great music for headphones, but in live much better to listen to Placebo or Thom Yorke and yell ). Plus, Ben stopped to engage with audience, just staring at the floor and playing for himself :( p.s. his songs saved me in some way and inspire every day, so no offense in my opinion
