Thanks for this wonderful story of a very successful Somali woman with big heart and beautiful mind killed by cowards with guns. I loved her programmes and was deeply saddened by her death. Fate drove her to be buried in her birthplace. I miss her but I think the Somali Canadian community miss her even more. I wonder why no one from the community took on the mantle of telling positive Somali stories after her death?! Such big shoes to fill but at least someone should try. It would keep the memory.

In my mind, Hodan was a pan-Somalist. She died in doing what she liked to do and that is, in my opinion, the penicle of bravery. In the end we will all die be it from old age, cancer, diabets, hyper-tension, a fall or myriad of other diseases. A brave person dies once, but the coward a thousand deaths. Hodan died a noble person's death. She passed on, but she left us with beautiful memories to cherish.
That woman represented all that was positive about being a Somali. May Allah rest soul in eternal peace. I thought I would meet her one day.

@@user-hm5mw9er3y Shabab don't exist in any secular or even Christian areas. Forget that even in non-salafi majority areas of Somalia, Al Shabab are absent.

Thank you!!! @cbcdocs for bring Hodan's story (Allah Ya Rahma) back into the mainstream and thus inspiring millions more. As a Somali/Canadian her story is a reminder what we're capable of in the harshest conditions and still exceed.
