I live off dividends on ETFs, for sure it can improve your wealth if you reinvest them to buy more, creating a snowball effect that allows you compound over time.
Have you considered the possibility of cashing out some of those dividends for paying off your monthly expenses, instead of re-investing them? Bcos I need a lot as rent, inflation alone eat up almost all of what I make.
tbh I keep compounding, adhering to well established patterns from a professional, even as a rookie, can bring tremendous value! I’ve trimmed, added also and now my average growth has increased in the past year while participating behind a top performer. effectively remits over hundred k annually and increasing.
In no order: 1) VOO 2) QQQM 3) SCHG/VUG 4) VTI 5) SCHD/DGRO. Personally I put down 1.2m$ on few ETFs, still diversifying. it was this time last year I made my first break through with a liquid 370k. Handed it to a trader here in TX, I get weekly pay out which I put back on long term ETF's. Tesla will be a huge buy for me when the market bottoms.
If you have the first 2, you're pretty good already! The ETFs kind of rebalance themselves. Are you not happy with your current portfolio's performance or is it something you do every year?
@@CanadianFinancePro VDY is a high dividend etf, the same as XEI They are similar in size, liquidity, mer and holdings, so you can’t go wrong with either or both of them, but I like the 5 year plus graph better
I wanted to take currency out of the equation. I played around with WS Crypto but since not everyone has a WS account, I thought it'd be best to recommend ETFs that can buy purchased on Questrade & other platforms.
I would! I recommended XUS last year but I didn't want to make the same video over again in case people got bored of my content or sick of me repeating myself.
FIE is good for retires, especially if they reinvest some of the income,it has paid out up to 7% in the past, currently its paying i think about 5.7%.Since inception it has total return of about 8%.
Hi, around 5 minutes into the video you said VTI is the USD version of VEQT. This is not correct. VEQT is 45% US, 30% Canada, and the rest excluding North America and emerging market. Meanwhile VTI is total US. Perhaps you meant to say VT?
ZWC is mainly covered call distributions, I was going to do a video on that next week. XEI to me feels more like dividends (instead of distributions) coupled with capital appreciation, the stock is up 26% in 5 years, whereas ZWC has higher cash payouts but its been flat over 5 years. I haven't looked into FIE yet.
Question- I have other etfs but I’m planning to only buy 50% vfv and 50% veqt going forward. Should I sell them or keep. It’s hxq and qqqm because I had USD
@@CanadianFinancePro qqqm is in usd. I had usd kicking around after i sold apple stock. And the mer for qqqm is 0.15% vs it's QQQ at 0.20%. HXQ is in CAD non hedged mer 0.27%.
Well ... since VFV is Canadian, the FUND will pay 15% WHT on the US dividends, but not you directly ... if that makes sense. The only way to save US dividend tax is to buy a US stock in your RRSP. WHT is withheld at source aka in the US.

The dividend snowball effect after 20 years would be huge.
I reinvest 100% and will do so for years.

Shaquaan a lot of people let their dividends ride for the long-term given its solid returns effects overtime
I am impressed with your update on these stocks, now my question is which is best to buy at this time. I have some liquid assets to diversify.

Thank you, I already added VOO and QQQM, can you share this Pro with me.
Yeah, Kathie Daisy Bosco use her name to look her up.
SPY, QQQ, IWM, and currently TLT. I only have 4. Kathie’s firm grows a good portion of my diversification, I live in Connecticut.
what trading platform do you recommend for Canadians? I trade options and stocks and have both direct trading and a TSFA account.
Hm, I like interactive brokers bc its cheap, however its not user friendly. I also use Questrade, its pricier but prettier to look at and use.
Yeeeeee!!! 🎉 this is my portfolio! For thee past few years. Thanks to you! Planning to stick to this for 20 years
Beauty! I've been recommending the same thing for years.
Perfect timing I was just about to rebalance my portfolio. Had the first 2 in my list, didn't consider the last 2

My preference would be VDY over XEI, but to each their own
@@CanadianFinancePro I essentially had a lot of my portfolio in cash(dot)to so wanna redistribute it into etfs
Right right, was that bc you needed the cash soon? That seems to be just a savings account or holding it to keep up with inflation.

What are your views about HMAX for dividends?
Just wondering your thoughts - why BTCC vs BTCC.B? and have you tried Wealthsimple Crypto vs ETFs?
I wanted to take currency out of the equation. I played around with WS Crypto but since not everyone has a WS account, I thought it'd be best to recommend ETFs that can buy purchased on Questrade & other platforms.
would you consider XUS for s&p 500 considering our loonie is weak in near future?
I would! I recommended XUS last year but I didn't want to make the same video over again in case people got bored of my content or sick of me repeating myself.
SPTM? Would holding usd now be better because Canada's dollar is going lower?
I am 59 and have about hundred thousand in TFSA savings account. What is the best place to park this cash for the next 5 years
Hm, might be worth just to do a GIC or cash.to
Old school retro we love…unlike the Paul/Tyson pillow fight
You've been here since the start! Also, I skipped that staged fight :p

Great choices, have all three in my various portfolios
wahoo thats awesome, you're on the right track.
thank you so much, informative and to the point!
Awesome thank you!
Just reviewing finances, thanks for the recommendations.
Awesome, let me know if you have any questions.

Hm maybe I can add an edit in there, I've never owned VTI, but I thought it was the total market index, let me re-review.
But by holding btcc you lose out on the tremendous upside.
I'mma stick with the Buffet/Ackman approach
Yes but some people (many many people) don't want to hold the coin.
Solid advice!!! Thanks
No thank you!
Why XEI over FIE or ZWC even though the later have high yield? low MER?
ZWC is mainly covered call distributions, I was going to do a video on that next week. XEI to me feels more like dividends (instead of distributions) coupled with capital appreciation, the stock is up 26% in 5 years, whereas ZWC has higher cash payouts but its been flat over 5 years.
I haven't looked into FIE yet.
If you want to draw down your portfolio in retirement,CC is fine,if you want some growth, stay away from covered calls.

mmm hard to say, nothing wrong with the Nasdaq, what's the difference between HXQ and QQQM?

XEQT or ZEQT gives quarterly dividends much better and XEQT has larger aum
I'm ok with XEQT, I reviewed that one last year, I haven't looked at ZEQT yet.
Vfv in tsfa, will I pay taxes on those US div?
No

XEI is very good I like VDY better even though it’s bank heavy
I have VFV but also QQC - any reason why QQC isn't in the recco?
Its already included in VEQT and VFV, so, I had to leave it out this time. I don't want to overcomplicate.
Great Video! Let's go Vechain!
Haha shout out to vechain.
Bassem, are you hiring video editor?
I'm not, my videos are pretty straight forward so I just do them myself.
@@CanadianFinancePro Oh i see
Bitcoin, maybe however if you’re over 50 then why would you want to buy bitcoin or bitcoin etf, I’d go gold bullion
If you are retired stay away from Bitcoin,if your young have at it.
