I understand lbj but 2 things about this are 1, the initial call was a 2 pointer. It takes a lot of overturn a call on the floor. 2, lbj is looking at a still frame but if you unpause the video his toe continues forward and taps the line. I thought it was a 3 too until I played it through instead of stopping it. You can stop it anywhere and draw any conclusion about the frame where you stopped it at. Let it run.

I think it's when he loses his dribble because his shot and feet should already be planted. In the image, I think his foot was outside the line when he shot it but it really depends on when he loses his dribble since technically he shouldn't be able to slide his feet but that's difficult with the human eye.

In the NBA, you begin counting steps after the ball has been gathered, usually at the top of the dribble. You don't count from when the ball last hits the floor. His left foot is clearly already planted when he gathers the ball, then he takes two steps and shoots.

They showed the replay when Lebron was at the apex of his rise, his toe was on the line from that camera angle. Maybe if there was a angle parallel to the floor it wasn't , but it was a two from the angle of the cameras they used. Sucks, but the lakers couldn't hit shots and the wolves were trying to gift them the game with all their turnovers.
If you watch the wolves, we do that every game and still are top in the west. If we figure out how to get that down to 12 a game we are unstoppable.

What happened to the replay they showed on tv before LeBron went to the monitor? That replay showed clearly that his toes were on the line as he went up for the shot. The toes came forward and touched the line before the ball was released.
