“Sometimes I get angry too” is one of my favourite lines from Jester, along with “Do you ever get...sad?” Idk I just love peeling back the layers of her and makes you wonder how much of her she’s hiding to maintain her image

I think one of the biggest lies our generation fell for is that love only matters if it results in a "happily ever after." Beau's love for Jester was never going to end in a Hollywood kiss and a wedding, but there's a beauty and a meaning all its own in a romantic love that doesn't end up in a relationship, or that turns into a short-lived relationship before cooling to a lifelong friendship. That's not something to grieve, it's something to celebrate - and it means so much to me that Critical Role understands that, because you don't see those kinds of relationships represented in a positive light very often.
Agreed! It's something the cast lives, and the characters reflect: A bunch of friends who love each other very, very much.

It's moments like these that characters can really come to life. Just talking in character can be a very heartfelt experience.
I know there are a lot of shippers out there, but I prefer to just appreciate the friendship these two have. Even Beau admits it's a crush that she knows isn't going to go anywhere, and often friendships are just fine the way they are. Supportive, caring, and downright cute. :3
Agreed, sometimes a deep personal friendship can be as fulfilling as a romantic one.
I love that Beau still doesn’t quite understand how friendship works, like she thinks she has to line everyone up in an order and she’s super candid about it, as though she thinks that’s how everyone thinks of their friends

Y'know, it's weird, I don't think either of those things has ever been done for the CR characters, so I kind of wonder where you're coming from with that. I'm aware it happens on other series', but no fanart of them (C1 or C2), to my knowledge, features either of those things.

when i see this from the perspective of a show i think that the first time jester gets actually angry is in a situation where bo dies and it's super tragic and makes everyone cry

Beau has a crush on her, Caleb is in love with her, and she herself is crushing on Fjord. I don't know who to root for anymore but I'll be over the moon regardless as long as the other two get an equally happy ending somewhere else.

Why does this scene relate so much with my childhood? Me and my brothers grew up in a very sheltered home as well. One of my brothers turned to anger, the other turned to temp. romances, and I turned to creativity. This scene basically describes how our lives turned out, and it hits me in the feels in a way many others will never truly get to understand. 🤔😳😓
