Same here. Former boyfriends had personal habits which turned into big problems. I could see it coming and broke it off early. Years later found out what happened to them. One was an alcoholic, another turned to drugs and was living on the street, the other had both of these problems and completely disappeared off the face of the earth. Even his family members don’t know where he is. Think I dodged a bullet with them…..
Story 8 reminded me of what happened to me in my first marriage. Her narcissistic elderly mother started demanding money from me and my then wife defended her. Her argument was, ‘Mom is on a fixed income, you need to help support her’. She (former wife) also insisted on me risking my health and career to look after her elderly father so he could stay in his home (she and her NMom were funneling his cash to her golden child brother, with her dad’s approval, so they didn’t want his money going to support him in a nursing home). He put me out of work for 2 months with tendinitis in my chest. She and her mother denied it. She also neglected our marriage because her mother and father (and brother) came first which meant NO date nights or fun evenings out. No Christmas parties, no ‘double dates’ with other couples - they even frowned on me seeing my friends outside of work. Took 9 years of this hell before I kicked the lot of them to the curb, but 18 months after that I met the woman of my dreams and have been married to her now for 2 1/2 years.
Well, the first one waited until I was 7 months pregnant with his kid to hit me; the second one up and died of cancer, leaving me to finish raising my 13 year old and our 5 year old alone, but our relationship was… questionable, anyway, and would likely have deteriorated over time. I have no desire to ever date again. 🤷♀️
I'm just not good at picking husbands. Now that I'm older why bother trying again! I like my peaceful home.

Story 3 is just infuriating. In every HEALTHY relationship, there is a place for personal hobbies or interests. This woman is plain evil.

I divorced 25 years ago due to cheating. I am not interested in a repeat.
