Heya Duck in today's video you will learn how to create a bright snake skin design using flash gels keep watching!
In today’s video we will be using the brand spanking new City Lights Collection this is the largest collection we have ever done and has 16 colours! The daytime colours are set of gorgeous flat colours and the nighttime colours are corresponding FLASH GELS! You can pick them up from the link below!

We are going to be working on the Aleana hand today and I'll start by giving these a coat of the base Gel and then I'll put those in the lamp, then ill move on to my flash gels so I’m using London by Night, Paris by Night, Vegas by Night and Tokyo by Night and ill cure that.
I’ll give each colour an additional layer without curing and decant my flat colour variants onto a pallet.
Now take the design needle end of the Pammy Picker Upper and use that to place some dots of the flat colour into the wet nighttime colour to create the snakeskin effect allow the gel a few seconds to expand and repeat this across the whole set one nail at a time.
With that done I can topcoat these to seal in the design and level out the design and that can go into the lamp, now to make the design stand out even more and give a textured appearance I’m going to take my matte topcoat and decant some of that on to a pallet and ill take my Meako Aqua Brush and ill go over the Flat colour using that and cure, do this across the whole set and that's it! Grateful for you and Adam. Any chance you can do a new updated video on how to sculpt ALL the various shapes of nails. I found videos of you teaching on Cheryl with a stiletto where you stated to place the form downward due to her hyponychium. What if she didn't have a hyponychium, how would you place the form? In a different video you stated to place the form straight! For a ballerina is the form up, down, straight (hyponychium or not)? Do we form the product at an angle? There are a lot of people giving partial advice, however, I trust your advice. Thanks again, always grateful and looking forward to your videos.

I'm not a fan of the snakeskin design (I'm terrified of snakes, so 🤷♀️), but I actually love these. I love the reflective gel as the base. It looks absolutely beautiful. 😍 And your flash gels look SO much thinner than every other brand I've seen and/or tried. I don't use my reflective gels very often because they're so thick, but also the kind of gel that needs multiple coats, which means bulky nails. I hate it. But, yours look so much thinner, and easier, to work with. I wish I had the funds to order some of your products, but I'm currently having to pay off my Mom's cremation bill, which is $2000, plus we just got ripped off $900 on a used car that we can never legally own because the guy screwed us, intentionally. I don't even have two pennies to rub together at this point. 🙄🤦♀️😂

Hi Kirsty and Adam. Would you do this same design with the plain color as the background (matt), and the flash gel on top. Even if it's just a short. 😊
How does the matte adhere to the no wipe top coat that was applied? Very nice and simple design.
Help Kirsty. I do my mum’s nails. I’ve used the same brand (sadly not your’s) for a couple of years now. I base coat, couple of thin layers of biab just for a bit of extra strength, and 2 thin layers of colour and top coat. They usually last for 4 or 5 weeks. I don’t file down to the nail m just through the top coat and use acetone to remove. The last 3 sets the entire lot, biab, gel etc has just peeled off of her thumb, index & middle finger on her right hand. The last 2 sets I’ve used dehydrator as well. I really can’t think what could be going wrong. 😕

Hi kirsty, I know you don't do q&as necessarily but I was just wondering... my nail tech does clear matte builder gel on my natural nails (im a nurse so this is all I can get away with) my left thumb has been lifting since 2 appointments ago and I have told her... the first time I thought she didn't do anything about it because the length would be taken down naturally (as I cant have long nails). I had glued it with brush on nail glue... I told her again at the last appointment 2 days ago but she didn't do anything about it again... now its lifted again.... what can I do or say to my nail tech? She buffs the gel down and files then fills and tops. What does she need to do? What should I ask for? A complete removal service? I dont want to do that as my nails get so soft that with all the hand gel and washing at work they break and I end up with no nails at all which I dont find comfortable at all
@ Kirsty meakin is it possible to mix the solid Color with the mat topcoat and then make the drops? Let the drops fall in a wet glossy topcoat , So than its mat right away?
