  • Medical misinformation, often provided under the cover of freedom of speech, can lead to a mistrust of science and ultimately harm to patients. While misinformation has always challenged the health care system, the problem came into stark relief during the Covid-19 pandemic - with deadly consequences. Dr. Richard Baron, the President and CEO of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and the ABIM Foundation, has been a leading voice in efforts to combat medical misinformation and its harmful effects on the physician-patient relationship and the health care system. In this Medicine Grand Rounds, he'll analyze the threat of misinformation and the medical profession's role in combating it.
    Speaker:
Richard J. Baron, MD, MACP, board certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine, is president and chief executive officer of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the ABIM Foundation. He was a former chair of the American Board of Internal Medicine’s Board of Directors and served on the ABIM Foundation Board of Trustees. Dr. Baron practiced general internal medicine and geriatrics for almost 30 years at Greenhouse Internists, P.C., located in Philadelphia.

The biggest misinformation is that boys can't be girls, and girls can't be boys but there is a buck to be made so they invented "gender affirming care" which is just cutting breasts off, hysterectomies for otherwise normal girls for profit. Biggest moral outrage in a century, remember when they used to complain about genital mutilation in Africa? Now that is standard practice here.
