- Video review and overview of membership at The Saint James in Springfield VA.
Pros:
-Loved the trainers!!
-Loved the facilities!!
-My workouts were generally awesome. This was largely due to the trainers.
-Front desk people were awesome.
-Food at Vim& Victor.
-Being able to ice skate occasionally (if you can find the parking LOL).
Cons:
-General lack of respect by the manager, Matt M. Absolutely without a doubt the rudest manager I've ever met. Didn't care about any of my concerns and told me exactly that. The staff is also scared of him. Any of the cons on my list right now could be easily addressed imo.
-Kids sports: take up 1/3 or more of the member's sports area from 2:30pm to 9pm. If you go into an area they are in, you're in a HS gym. Can be more than 75 kids as young as 3 years. It's not really a good environment/ or anything that is relaxing for me personally.
-Kids events on weekends: Makes it impossible to go to the gym on the weekend. T would try and let members know when parking wouldn't be possible.
-Price: $160 pp per month. I think that's too high for the amount of time that the gym is unusable.
-The "extras" actually cost a TON of money and I think that these would really add up if you wanted to use the facilities fully.
-Towels have stains/ are frequently empty.
In the locker rooms: Seems like frequently there are more than 20+ teen girls in the locker room. I think this is also kids sports. Just not relaxing imo they are very loud and have clothes/ shoes/ towels everywhere. here have been times where I believe it would have been truly impossible to park and I've left due to these events. From the manager I was told- that he would try and let members know when parking wouldn't be possible.

Thank you so much for this review. I’ve considered joining this gym, but based upon your review and the terrible parking situation I’m not going to waste my time. I can really understand that they are focusing on team sports, however it’s not good that they are disrespecting the individual members.

curious if you have tried out other gyms in the area, or looked into getting a pass to workout at the rec centers?
oh they have specials @ the rec centers like $15-30 for a month, no registration crap fees, can use pass at all rec centers in ffx county, some rec centers have pools and the one in alexandria has ice skating, but sadly no trainers.
