Hare Krishna, such lectures are rare and very enlightening, such gurus are coming to earth only once in a millennium, hare Krishna, all glories to ISKCON.
Thank you. May all those who come to this Video share these as much as possible. The Kali Yuga and it's influence is spreading and Srila Prabhupada's words and books are the only means to stop the very degrading influence of this horrible age. Hare Krishna.
To hear Srila Prabhupada's voice is to see Vaikuntha, not with your eyes, to feel and honor by meditating , using light w/in & w/out to be jiva-atma, at the sweet Lotus Feet of Sri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the all attractive, Absolute, who gives value to all the following zeros. This helps to reawaken the true identity of the conditioned spirit soul, who by true, healthy awareness serves the servants that assist, the loving pastimes of Sri Sri Guru Krishna Caitanya!
Sril Prabhupad can't be thanked enough for blessing us with this knowledge off course we are all idiots and rascals but through his mercy we aspire we can just aspire all glories to Sril Prabhupad
Greatest king of knowledge, expressed so nicely I spent years asking about such pakriti & Purusha to understand the world & how to make the best life. Divine loving exchange w/the Supreme Personality of Godhead. thank you; please accept me as yours to please you!
Very nice description of our constitutional position is about 16:15, so back up about a minute and you'll see a very worthy conversation about our constitutional nature... Only takes a minute and it is one of the clear recording so Prabhupada.
Thanks for the response, some of my issues with technical problems. I am not sure I agree with "it's better than reading the book". For example: Have you seen the movie "The Ten Commandments" ... no but I did read the book! Let's not forget that the Bhagavad Gita, is a bonafide religious source text about 5000 years in its original sanskrit form. This book is actually really small and concise yet is contains the essence of the Vedas.
The Shrimad Bhagavatam is a multi-volume set, which I recall has well over a dozen volumes, maybe more like 18. The Bhabgavad Gita is the essence of the entire Vedic religion, and even the excellent version by AC...Swami... is easy reading with a direct translation from the sanskrit right underneath it. If you are one of these "liberated souls" who grasps spiritual concepts easily and quickly, you can read "just the translations" and then go back to the elaborate purports when you want to.
Thank you very much for this. It offers me many answers. Now do any of you kind souls know of any chat rooms where the subject can be explored with participants who are commenting, responding and reacting in real time? .oO( I do so enjoy a chat room environment )
Thanks for the comment friend, I think those who are serious will stay and secondly its far better than reading a book , so its not that bad. The reason this is so long is because of the subject it deals with. Swami Prabhupad took the effort( when he was 71 or 72) to record this so that true seekers could approach the Bhagawad Geeta with the correct understanding of the underlying Vedic Philosophy and mindset, hence could benefit from it even further. Thanks again Hari Om.
Is this the original introduction recorded by Srila Prabhupada for Bhagwat Gita before it was edited and printed in Bhagwat Gita as it is introduction?
Well the original Bhagawatam is just one volume, I guess you are talking about the Commentary on the Bhagawatam by Srila Prabhupad which indeed is a humongous 18 volume set but well worth buying and studying , well not every one of us is a " liberated soul" by birth most of us have to put in some effort of our own (the rest of the work is done by God and your Guru) & thats why these elaborate explanations are needed .
Ha.Ha..OK OK...my comment"it's better than reading the book" was a bit exaggerated..Well yes the Bhagavad Geeta is a part of the Mahabharata and comprises of just 700 verses..but entire volumes can be and have been written on the teachings of the Geeta & almost all great Masters right from AdiShankara to Yogananda to Srila Prabhupad have written commentaries on it ,an Introduction is required for completely new readers not those who are already well versed in Vedic Philosophies .
Brahma, the first created being? Wrong, there no such statement in the whole of the Geeta, on the contrary it is clearly stated that what is called ''Brahma'' is uncreated, and is both sat and asat which means being and not being, at once, here we are speaking of the initial eternal oscillation creating waves, which under the phenomenal perspective of consciousness becomes particles in motion. As a matter of fact, the word Brahma never appeared in the early Geeta, the word ''Brahma'' came later, due to a politically dominated society by Brahmins, in order to allow the Geeta to continue to be spread.
Dear Prabhu, Srila Prabhupad is refrencing to Srimad Bhagwatam here. Secondly there is a difference between ' Brahma ' and ' Brahmn ' . Brahma is a deity , or more specifically a post just like PM is the name of a post . ' Brahmn' is what the Bhagwat Geeta and the Upanishads speak about and this Brahmn has nothing to do with Brahmins or the varna ashrama . Nirgun Brahmn and Sagun Brahmn are concepts intrinsic to Vedanta . As far as politics go ,well please go through the history of Gaudia Mattha . Srila Bhakti Siddhhanta Saraswati literally had to fight his way to establish the supriority of a devotee over the false and unvedic casteism created by the priests . Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati not even once even slightly indicated that there was some ' earlier Geeta' and the term ' Brahmn ' is related in any way to the priests . He just like Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu considered a devotee of the lord as a true ' Brahmin ' . Sri Chaitanya used to preach that a Chandal who is a Bhakta is more pure and is on a higher pedestal than all the priests who are too arrogant to be a Bhakta or devotee .....A thousand Pranams Prabhu , Hari Om & Hari Bol.
I accidentely deleted Lei's reply .Here is what he wrote Thanks a lot for bringing all these clarifications ! Missing totally what I wanted to focus on ! LOL : here we go:Gita chapter 8 verset 18 chapter 13 verset 12 > verset 16 > As it is, [LOL] and with all my respect for Prabhupada, for bringing to the world eastern wisdom, Krsna, love and eternity within him, is the SELF, WHAT STANDS FOR ''BRAHMAN'' IS SELFLESS! Yet, is dwelling in Krsna, as well as pervading all living entities, that superior principle seems to have escaped the master, as a result, Prabhupada translation is biased, trying to place Krsna as the conceiver, while HE is the creator, certainly! HARE HARE HARE !!!
I did get your point BUT commented only on those topics which IMO needed a reply .I dont have any issue with your understanding of the BG as long as its within the several vedantic schools of thought . Prabhu its no big deal if you find Srila Prabhupads interpenetration of the BG not suited to your views. I am a Sri Vaishnava and even I dont agree to everything PrabhupadJi writes and teaches. Prabhu we are followers of Dharma and in Dharma there are no hard and fast rules there are just mattas or opinion . I might not agree to Prabhupads Matta that does not mean I disrespect him . Similarly Gaudia Vaishnavas dont agree completely with Sri Ramanuja still they do respect him as an authentic acharya . Lastly I would request you to look out for the spelling when discussing Brahmn the supreme consciousness and Brahma one of the trimurti . I know the pronunciation is strikingly similar but followers of Dharma must make things as unconfusing as possible for a new seeker ....Once again dear Prabhu, Hari Om .
Things happens! Thanks for your reactivity, as well as for your open mind, I would request you to look out for the words you are using to define Brahmn, Brahmn is NOT the Supreme consciousness ! It is absolute non dual awareness, consciousness is OF THE SELF, and as such, Krsna is Supreme Self consciousness of all actions! And I do not mean any disrespect, and I am not a ''new'' seeker by the way, living in Nepal, having dedicating my lives to that holy knowledge, reincarnation after reincarnation, I am teaching Eastern Wisdom, and yes, did not focus on grammar or Sanskrit spelling as, when the time will come, this will not help you/me! LOL! All my best to you bro ! Krama Shri Lei Kathmandu Nepal
Lei Shri Krama A matter of choice of words . What you refer to as non dual consciousness I refer to as the supreme reality or supreme consciousness ....But yes I completely agree with you. Also I would like to clarify that by " new seeker" I meant a new guy reading these comments and not you Prabhuji .

Here is my comment, this video is way to long. People will rarely sit still for anything on the web that is more than 7-12 mins,
