yeah key has said that BAD LOVE and gasoline and killer is a trilogy.. so like a breakup , and at first you feel this high... and then after you feel regret or guilt.
I love that we're making this 80s/90s music officially Key style, like with his previous songs Bad Love and Another Life, cause it suits him so well! This song was beyond incredible and I'm so happy we've been getting more Key content lately! Can't wait for Taemin to be back in April so that we can have shinee together again!!💙💎
KEY is one of the most talented and innovative artists I know. I love the Gasoline album: for the mood, the nested meanings, and the fact that all the compositions perfectly complement each other and are perceived as a whole work. I'm glad SM released a repack. Style and images of KEY is a separate art form! Killer has already topped the hit parade in my heart. 💞💕💯
Everything you see and hear with "Killer" has Key's signature stamp on it. It's his title track from his repackaged album, which is a follow up to his previous "Gasoline" MV and album, so they have a similar aesthetic. From his outfits to the backup dancers looks, to the set design and story concept, as well as the song lyrics, and the whole album -- including the album packaging -- was designed by him. He is involved in the entire creative process when it comes to his solo work and everything you see and hear is what he envisioned for this entire album/repackage concept. Every aspect is all part of his design. Key said his style is more like retro '80s/'90s MTV, so that's the treatment they used to come up with his solo concepts and styles. So far, the retro aesthetic is the look and feel he has had for all of his solo MVs and albums. And he has only dove in deeper with the retro concept after he came back from the military. Since gaining artistic control of his solo releases with his "Bad Love" album, he has been building a whole world based on retro sci-fi TV shows/movies and comics, etc. When it comes to his solo stuff, you never have to question who was the stylist because I guarantee that it will always be him. He has gained a reputation for his fashion, so he is involved in all aspects of the styling for everything he does these days. He would never just passively stand by and allowed someone else to tell him what to wear. And because Key was involved in creating the storyline for his MV, he was also involved in the whole aesthetic, including clothing and costume choices. When people say, "there is no one or nothing out there like it," they are right. Key is 100% that artist. A legend on par with Taemin's legendary concepts and styles. No wonder they are both members of SHINee. SHINee are always on another level and they are constantly outdoing themselves with every new project. It amazes me after more than 14 years that SHINee can still continue to reinvent the Kpop industry with every new release, whether it's as a group project or one of the member's solos, and yet they do it every time without fail. SHINee are the originators and trendsetters of everything you see Kpop groups doing today. SHINee where designed to be SM Entertainment's experimental boy group, so everything they do is meant to be the first and they are expected to create the trend. With every new song and dance SHINee produces it's expected to be different than the last, so you will never see the exact same style or sound from them in any of their songs or dances. Nothing you hear from them or the members' solos will ever be exactly like anything you have ever seen or heard before, and yet it will be very much "their style." The members of SHINee raise the bar even higher with every performance. And that's what makes them SHINee. :D
Now I can't unhear the Interstella part!!! You're right, it does kinda sound like it. Also, I think you'll like Heartless as well. It's one of his new songs that were released with this repackaged album
2:45 Yes! Michael Jackson Thriller (and yes, he does the choreo-ish after)... You have to watch Bad Love (I think it's the prequel to this) and look for this very same reference in clothes now ;)
I love your reaction, your speaking is really soothing to listen to 🖤 About Key and Killer, I am so proud to be loyal fan of his because he bring justice to the 80s vibe music he has the ear for music, his voice fits perfectly for this vibe and he really bring his ideas to life with so much hardwork and love. He is iconic in album concept design too, if you have time, please look at his physical album design board because its really really cool for not just music field but in visual design field. Basically he is perfect in his craft 🖤 I am not sure about English lyric but the Vientamese translation explained even better the feeling and story behind the music video and the song: he got stuck in thinking about her, he wanted to get rid of memories of her and run away but it kept coming back, I think you got it. I also think he has MJ Thriller reference just like you mentioned as well. The choreography, the song choice and vocal and cinematography of the MV really makes me think of movie scene where the hero/miracle appear to save the disaster and its so cool. Have been playing Killer all day since it came out and really do feel like I am in a movie lol.
Taemin's position as my SHINee bias is in real Danger right now 👀 Key is Honestly so incredible. He has always been amazing at these 80s synth songs (Honest, Bad Love, Guilty Pleasure, Another Life) but Killer is the best one yet! Absolutely incredible stuff. I hope he never stops doing this! I know it's a big ask because it's literally 14 songs total but I can not recommend the album enough! I would love to see your take on it. Only if you have the time though of course.
I was the same way, and of course Key has conquered and snatched my Shinee bias position. Taemin was my bias since 2013. I never thought it would happen but yeah that’s the power of Kim Kibum for ya. 😂❤
Pretty sure when he says "thriller" they legit do MJ Thriller dance moves. This is really Key's sound. He loves that 80s sound and so do I. His song Bound which is my fav is very much what if Depeche Mode was kpop.
Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. I am looking into Taemin, Shinee these days. And I know Key is in Shinee too. Killer is catchy. I like it. Also 80s vibe. Sample might have been used in the backing track. I like his hairstyle short. The glove reminded me of Taemin. Maybe it was a nod to both MJ and Taemin. =0] Liked his vocals too. Hugs. -NY USA 2019 Army 💜
as always he never disapoint me i just hope than all SM artist can stay on SM if HYBE really take the lead of the agency it's the biggest event in kpop history . who can imagine that only 5 years ago BIG HIT a small agency became HYBE and became as big than the big 3 agency SM ,JYP ,YG and now they're bigger than them and buy most of the action of the biggest kpop agency . Key talk about how insecure he was because of that , red velvet members to . so just wait and see .
