  • Welcome to INNOVATION TIME.💐
    Hello friends
    This is a semi-automatic lathe that X axis has a motor with adjustable speed. In the future will added an electromotor to Y axis and will be completely automatic. The movement of the device can controlled by using a joystick. The main electromotor that rotates the chuck is speed adjustable. This lathe machine is not for sale. I spent about a year to make this lathe and I tried to show you that it is possible to make this tool with minimal facilities. I used scrap metal as much as possible to make this lathe and finally spent about 1500 dollars. This work has been prepared and published in several parts. This video is one of them. To financially support this channel, you can use Super thanks and pay membership. Your support is my encouragement.

    I'm impressed that you built a working lathe with nothing more than an angle grinder, a drill, and a stick welder. The machine is a bit crude, but I'm impressed by how much you've been able to do with so little equipment.

    I dont want to nitpick ,but if you want to use it for longer time then you should ad adjustable gibs to cross slides , those gibs are used to set tolerances . As is now it will wear out and it will not hold any tolerances properly and if that happens you can propably use it only as wood lathe ... On other note I like how beafy it is build and that you used conical bearings for spindle ,but please use oil for sliding surfaces eather way oil or machine oil, just some kind that doesnt make it sticky after some time ,if you aply right oil it will move smoother and wear less

    At least clean or grind all the steel plates from the rust or debris before using them. Use oil to smooth the bed ways and all those steel plates that rubbing each other. i can hear squeaky sound while these plates are moving. These steel materials used in this video are not cheap at my place 😢😢😢
    However, still a nice DIY lathe ✌✌👍👍

    Sir, can explain for me: you used same joystick switch for spindle and X axis when threading? Can make other videos preparing for threading, I see you make 2 pitch like how ratio of pulley spindle, ratio of gearmotor X axis; how rpm of spindle, rpm of X axis; how pitch of lead screw,... ?

    • @innovationtime20
      @innovationtime20  Год назад +1

      Hello my friend
      I used two inverters, one for the x-axis and one for the Chuck, both of them can be controlled by a joystick. When the fixed chuck motor speed , any pitch can be created by changing the X-axis motor speed, and I found different pitches by trial and error. 😉

    • @innovationtime20
      @innovationtime20  Год назад +1

      Of course, it is better to use an encoder so that no errors are made

    Especially how you made it and got it to make threads by using VFD,it is the first time I've seen that.can you please show us maybe in a video how you wired those two VFDs together in one joystick to make them able to cut the thread.i would love to try and make one myself if you dont mind

      Hello my friend
      Thanks for your kindness
      Two motors and two inverters, the question here is how to use left-handed and right-handed at the same time
      It is enough to control both inverters from the same place, but the problem is that it is not possible to connect both inverters to one joystick. It is enough to put an Electrical Relay for each of the inverters. In this way, both relays can be connected to a joystick.
      The electrical circuits of the relays are usually drawn on them
