  • Bapsi Sidhwa (b. 1938) is a prolific Pakistani novelist of Gujarati-Parsi descent. Her acclaimed novel, Ice Candy Man (1988), depicts the events surrounding 1947 and has been adapted into Deepa Mehta’s 1998 film 1947: Earth. In her interview, she talks about her memories of mob attacks and communal riots as a child living in Lahore during the Partition.
