True that. We just connect to our own sadness but not in a devastous, suicidal way or in a way that makes we angry against humanity etc. It's a therapeutic, soft sort of way. I use to believe it is because Amy compounds really inspired and with her heart, not her mind. So only beautiful things come out.
I've always been a fan of the riff on the original but when I heard this version I got chills. It's a much darker approach and you get to truly feel the meaning behind the song.

All I see is people saying this is NOT as good as the original Even In Death, some even say this is not "goth". You people don't have a clue about all the emotional, pure , dark and sad version this is. Personally I think this is the real "face" of the song. Besides It's a new version.
i would have to agree, now that i have heard both versions of this song. as much as i love the hauntiness of the rock song, i have to say i'm siding with piano version. there is just so much more raw, powerful emotion shown in this song compared to the rock version.

I feel like this version is so much softer, darker, and more emotional with those terrible minor notes that just haunt you with their tonality (note I use "terrible" less as a "they are bad" and more as you might describe a frightening monster - they're perfect for this). I just think this is so much more fitting for the themes of this song and it's glorious!

Either way, it's still an breath takin' experience that I had while listenin' to this song!

This is an amazingly good version. The vocals, the piano. Almost perfect. And I say almost because I miss the guitar part at 2:36. This version is darker, but it's missing the explosion of tragic and desperate feelings that those guitars gave it.
honestly i lve both versions of this song. this one and the original. i feel like they're so different, so i don't both comparing them or picking a favourite. They both have a place in my world, because they're both wonderful
