- Last week the Heads of Delegation meeting took place in Kyiv. At this meeting, all the songs for the contest are being submitted, and the Delegation heads get briefed on several aspects of the show.
Every country has a head of delegation. Who are they, and what do they do?

I'd love to get involved in Eurovision like this! Definitely 'career goals' for me :P Some may call me sad, but I don't care. I'd love to get my hands on turning the UK back into the Eurovision powerhouse it used to be!

You'd have to reimpose the national language rule. That's the only reason the UK (and Ireland) were Eurovision powerhouses in past decades.

Looks like they are wanting one of these 3 countries to host next year so there is less controversy and a safe bet on every country been allowed on stage, I'd love Eurovision to come to UK lets hope more people get won over by the song

Why Russia refused to visit the delegations meeting? They didn't picked the singer then, so why they didn't came? Russia was the only country that did it.
I guess, because they didn't planned to participate. This year Russia is here only for provocation. And you got hooked because of the poor disabled person. Good luck with that.

I hope Russia goes away and come back when Putin is not in power, used to love Russia in Eurovision until 2012. The grannies were my favourite by the way. Things have changed in Russia since, why did they stop having national finals and with the exception of last year just been sending peace songs? Ironic considering how aggressive Russian foreign policies have been since then. I have nothing against Russian people and I always admired the rich history of the country, and it is obvious people have lost their freedom to express in the country in the last 7/8 years. Putin cronies control almost every aspect of Russian cultural identity and media outlets. I hope things will get better for the common folk in Russia.
Sadly all of their rich history is stolen from other neighboring slavs.

They definitely didn't planned to take part this year so they make a provocation and sent disabled person with broken law in Ukraine :/
Before jumping into our own conclusions, they should make a video asking all these questions to the Russian Head of Delegation. We need to hear their side of the story, until now we only heard the Ukrainian "law".
it's not "law" it is law. Actual law that all people should obey or not be allowed to enter the country. Disabled or not, law is law for everyone.

She shouldn`t have broken Ukrainian law. U act in a lawful way - u get the permission to visit country, it`s as simple as that.

Sufyan Shafi only Eurovision never banned her, it was the Ukrainian authorities, and they do have legal grounds to do it.

Regardless of how much her song may inspire people (personally, I found it just "meh", but again that's just personal), you can't expect the Ukrainian authorities to violate their own laws to let an artist for a contest in. Let's see if they'll find a way around it (even if I do think they mostly just sent her to cause controversy).
