- Sit back, relax, and watch the installation of PlaneWave Instruments 1-meter telescope from Utah. Thanks to Observatory Solutions owner David Miller for the project support and PlaneWave's Rick Hedrick, Kevin Ivarsen, and Matt Dieterich for assisting with the install.
Nice to see a CEO and designers of the telescope on the site to install it and do a final handoff :) You rarely see this with other telescopes.
celestron isn't going to send their CEO to sell a powerseeker 127 EQ to a 9 year old.
Who would have thought xD You cannot compare "other telescopes" with a 1m PlaneWave lmfao
Good Lord...not only aperture envy but mount envy as well. What a nice observatory and beautiful Planewave equipment.
Is this somebody's house? That's fabulous to have such a nice observatory and telescope right there!
Beautiful and very well thought out piece of engineering.
Exquisite.
Thanks for showing what 1 meter can do, and what a dreamy site!
It's my first day that I'm serious to buy a funny telescope, but this 😮, absolute magnificent and background, just awesome. Hope to learn allot, will be my second hobby next to my fish and dog. Nice video 👍
The music is really good, too. No credits listed.
Tell you what, I was almost having kittens watching the telescope being lifted up off the ground and lowered into the dome. The thought of having so much money and equipment dangling so high up in the air was a little disconcerting!!! :) :P
Haha yes Carl that is where we make sure proper crane lifting techniques are used! Certainly take every precaution to safely install the telescope.
When the boss himself comes to the installation you know you've paid top dollar 😎
Bloody nice place, I’m so jealous, good for you.
wow think i just found my dream house!
Class stuff love planeWaves stuff.

Awesome, I need one !

Here you go, it's not too expensive.
hhduhjougs tdgbg pretty cheap might pick one up soon
I'm assuming that the longer the exposure, the cleaner the image becomes?
No, I didn't "sit back, relax" when I saw them handling the mirror. The one thing that kept going through my mind was DON'T DROP IT!!
575$K Thats the right machine to enjoy space!
i wonder how does the orion nebula look when looking through the eyepiece
Greetings :)
Do you have already installed bigger telescopes and recorded it ?
WOW !
I cant believe it's not in the comments already....... why did the pictures come out Black & White?!
Because they use monochrome camera
Is there a price list, please.
planewave.com/products-page/cdk700/
The PW1000 is about $650K US. So, just convert that price to your local price if you live outside of the US.
I need one of these in my life. A 2 meter scope would be nice too. But there’s no way I can get the money for two huge telescopes and two observatory domes
Is this at someones house?
You grind the mirrors yourselves?
that dosent seem like a equatorial mount ...which means it suffers from field rotation..the image dosent seem like that how is it possible????????
They rotate the camera at the side arms to counter it.
it has a giant field rotator.
Does the dome need to be so big? It looks a bit oversized. What kind of instruments they are using. It looks like it is directly on the floor, not on a separate rotating platform, so very heavy equipment is probably not in the plans. I guess digital imagining and visual observations? Then it fills the dome is a bit oversized :D Well, always good to have space for an upgrade in 20 years ;D
The client had a massive concrete pier built in the center of the dome, which easily had to be 30 ft tall. He is using a FLI CCD for astrophotography and also a Sony camera for live video work while family, friends, and students are there!
@@MattDieterich Just heard you on space junk and wondered who installs 34 inch telescopes? Now I know! Amazing. Fun interview too, clear skies!
@@ChrisTurchin thanks so much! Glad you listened to the podcast. That was a fun time chatting about installs.
MONEY WELL SPENT. " stars exist to indicate where is the finish line " Chinese proverb
My dream :)
the music is very annoying
The pictures on websites make this look small haha
2:40 Did any of those guys need to change their underwear after this stage of the process? :-)
Other people if they went rich: drugs, hookers, spending hundreds of thousands a night in LA
Me if I got money: "yes, I'd like to order the 1m aperture model"
I came in ma pants...
